This kid doesn't get it. He came to LSU with a chip on his shoulder and a ego the size of the state of Louisiana. Apparently that hasn't changed. Suspended 3 times in a calendar year. It's probably time to kick him off the team and get another QB ready.

That...or he's man enough to walk away from stupidity.

And don't give us the "men have fought" crap - we're not talking about fighting for your life and the lives of your buds. We're talking about a stupid kid not having the sense to stand down in a useless confrontation - regardless of whether he's right or wrong.

    It's called growing up.

The only record RP is threatening to break is the number of times getting suspended before getting the boot. I hope it's something minor and he is back on the team with his head on straight ready to lead the Tigers. However RP and suspension are two words you see used together far too often to make me feel he will be around for two more years. I hope I'm dead wrong, but I bet I'm dead right. Meanwhile Les had better be working on getting the bullpen ready for some relief pitching.

Oh yes I agree.................But you said it all.

    "A Kid "

    "Growing up"

But what you failed to mention : "making mistakes" ......."learning from them"

Every "Kid" makes mistakes.........it just so happens that this " kid" is in the national spotlight. Any mistake he makes will be heavily scrutinized.
His father just died.......he's a kid........he's a star in the national spotlight.
Fairly heavy burden to carry....for a "kid" who is " growing up"

Correct me if I'm wrong.........George Bush has a DUI conviction on record.
If memory serves me.......he is president of the United States.
You write like a replubican.........I'd surmise you voted for him.

But here.....you want a kid.....with all the talent in the world.........permantly dismissed from the LSU football program for, of all things, getting in a bar fight?
    Amazing.

Not about Rp specifically but how many mistakes do you have to make to learn the same lesson? I say, like many before me is you can make a mistake once and learn from it, make the same mistake twice and you have yourself a bad habit. Generally speaking.

Like you, I didn't know that being falsely accused and never charged with a crime was against the law. I'd like to know how you think PC or USC swept Mark's incident under the rug. After all, the school is located in one of the largest media markets in the country, right? Mark was arrested and the entire event was caught on camera and shown on the local news. Can't sweep that under the rug, you know?

Any man who has been wrongly accused of such a heinous crime has their reputation sullied for a very long time. His name was in the news every day. His career was put in jeopardy. His good name was called into question. He was made to take his finals separate from the rest of the class. To this day, her name is still unknown to the general public.

I sincerely hope that RP is able to pull it together and live up to his potential.

LSU has something like 105 football players and RP is just one of them, not even a starter so less spotlight. However his name is the one that pops up over and over related to off the field troubles. What about basketball, baseball, womens sports, how many athletes does LSU have in the spotlight that somehow manage to stay out of trouble. I agree his infractions have been minor but there has been multiple. RP seems like one of those kids that just has an easy time finding trouble while possessing none of the tools required to avoid it. It's a pattern that not many LSU athletes in recent years can equal. Like I said I wish the kid luck and hope he stars at LSU and the NFL, but I'm not betting the house that he has the mental aptitude to learn from his experiences, he sure hasn't shown it so far.

do some of you read your own post? one day its " i trust les miles decisions because of where hes taken lsu", now it "its time for rp to go" regardless that clm decision was not to kick him off the team. we don't know the facts of the situation and if it has anything to do with his father. even if it had to do with his father i could understand clm doing exactly whats hes doing because rp is now being looked at as a leader for this upcoming season and has to use better judgement but can also understand whats hes dealing with. so if everyone keeps saying they trust clm decisions then stfu about its time for rp to go.
