Wouldn't want to be judge based upon some of the poor decisions I made at that age but you only get so many chances in life. Not comparing the two or the decisions they made but just ask Cecil Collins.
Poor decisions is one thing, but with millions of dollar on the line to get your hand caught in the cookie jar over and over is really inexcusable. This guys only chance in life to be very successful was through football and he had all the talent needed plus some. However he doesn't seem to have even the smallest amount of brain matter needed for him to learn from his mistakes. RP definitely has no one to blame but himself and he really flushed some great opportunities down the toilet along the way. Sorry to see this happen, but not even slightly surprised.
With all due respect, this is absurd. What more could the team and the fans have possibly done for him? Drag him out of bed to attend classes every morning? Lock him in his apartment so he doesn't get into bar fights? Hire a chaperone to keep him off riverboats and ensure he doesn't get connected to a counterfeit ring? Les Miles gave him every chance in the world to redeem himself and he squandered all of them. The sad thing is that here's a guy born with the genetic equivalent of a lottery ticket, and all he has to do to cash in is keep his nose clean for 3 years, and he couldn't even do that. If I were looking at that kind of money, if Coach tells me my curfew's at 10:00, I'm in bed for 9:30. After enough second chances you just have to wake up and realize that some people will just never get it.
I totally agree with you. Perrilloux has no one to blame but himself. It is hard for me to feel sorry for him.
Let me clarify what I was saying here. I misrepresented my thoughts. I didn't mean to imply that we could have or should have done more for the kid. I was merely saying that I wish he had been a little more aware of what was going on and the investment his team and coaches were making in him and made better decisions. I would have preferred to be talking about the RP success story at LSU. Is that better?
it almost makes me think that it was a failed drug test because they play georgia tech. Without your star player this game is going to end up being 70-0 instead of 70-14.
