    More than a few members of this board have served in the military. Military service is not a litmus test for anything; neither one’s patriotism nor one’s ability to express an opinion on TigerFan!

    I think its funny. Winston called Trump a draft dodger yet, never served. Apparently Winston does think it has some value considering he uses it as a "negative" attack against Trump.

    There’s a difference. I volunteered and was ready. Trump like Bill Clinton actively avoided it.

    I've never saw it as a "pre-req" that a President must have served. Not sure why so many get so spun up about it

    It’s not whether they served or not. It’s that he like Bill Clinton dodged the draft. Jimmy Carter served and was a poor president. Others who never served like a Abe Lincoln were great presidents.
    However actively avoiding a duty is a measure of character and should be considered when selecting the president.
