So as we come to the Putin-Trump agent/asset meeting why do his Secretary of Defense, Secretary of State, National Security Advisor and Director of National Intelligence all say Russia is attacking our election system and “hacked” the 2016 election yet Trump denies all? Why is Trump sucking up to Putin? Putin who invaded Crimea, Ukraine and Chechnya completely ignoring international law and sanctions. Putin who has declared time and again his goal is to restore the Soviet Union, weaken the west and especially the United States. Why is every time he opens his mouth or tweets about Russia and Putin, he says just whatfits into what Putin claims to be his goals? https://www.nytimes.com/2018/07/14/us/politics/trump-russia-putin.html
Oh, okay then. I thought we were actually debating facts, not soft personal interpretations like pronouncements and actions. Is that an official thing now? Tell you what, why don't you tell me the last time the US had a surplus in trade, both goods and services, with the EU. Here's a hint....hasn't happened since at least 1997. Not at all. According to you, circumstances change. With that in mind, so has our alleged "relationship" with the EU. Today's Europe is not yesterday's Europe. Long gone are the days of Reagan and the Iron Lady. You mean, like Trump's entire approach to every negotiation? Sales. Tells me all I need to know. Uhhh, no. I thought about it....you know who is a complete asshole and also successful and wealthy? Elon Musk. He conducts business same as if not worse than Trump and he's nearing $20B in wealth.
Trump wants real free trade: "We buy three times as much from them as they buy from us. Many U.S. companies complain with justification, that to do business in China, they have to disclose trade secrets and patents, and in some cases surrender ownership rights of the firm. How is any of this “free trade.” But even our European allies have created anything but a level playing field. Their tariffs are about 30 percent higher than ours, according to the White Council of Economic Advisers. This does not include the 10 percent to 20 percent value-added tax that is slapped on American products when they hit the shores of Europe. Mr. Trump has told our allies that he is not against free trade, but it must be reciprocal and right now it isn’t." https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2018/jul/8/trumps-zero-tariff-solution/ You should be happy that you have a Pres. with brass balls.
I know how China acts yet the president wants to reduce penalties on ZTE, a company that not only does just what you say but is also known to use their products to spy on American companies. How does that square with brass balls? Oh yes the same day he tried that the Chinese gave Ivanka 14 trademarks. He also pulled out of TPP negotiations which leave us without a voice in Asian trade deals as well as pulled the rug out on our allies. Oh yes his tariffs or more accurately Chinese retaliatory tariffs will hurt his supporters in the Midwest. Soybean, pork and other agricultural products are what will be impacted most. There have already been rumblings out of the Midwest that farmers are not happy. Same with European tariffs or Canadian tariffs. He may think hitting people on the head with an axe to get their attention is smart negotiation. Unfortunately they really don’t need us as much as they did before either as a supplier or a consumer.
"as much" is pretty vague. No one wants a trade war with us. In the end they'll say "let's give the crazy fucker something. Something significant and let's move on. Hopefully we'll get a regular "politician" the next go around".
Oh, okay then. I thought we were actually debating facts, not soft personal interpretations like pronouncements and actions. Is that an official thing now? It’s alway part of a debate opinion drawn from facts make argument. Tell you what, why don't you tell me the last time the US had a surplus in trade, both goods and services, with the EU. Here's a hint....hasn't happened since at least 1997. So tell me how much of that is from Canada Mexico and Europe and how much from China? It’s similar to his argument that we spend so much more on defense than other NATO while ignoring the fact out defense budget is for the whole world not just Europe and that the other NATO countries spend more on defense than Russia. Not at all. According to you, circumstances change. With that in mind, so has our alleged "relationship" with the EU. Today's Europe is not yesterday's Europe. Long gone are the days of Reagan and the Iron Lady. yes it’s changed. Obama was a dithering fool and trump is being antagonistic so we’ve lost respect and position. Even W and his adventurism hurt. We need a strong but sane leader. You mean, like Trump's entire approach to every negotiation? No at best he looks to the moment more likely he looks only at what’s good for Donald. Sales. Tells me all I need to know. what a comment. So what profession or business are you in that gives you such great insight? You make these snarky comments with nothing to back them up....what about those Bush’s? Uhhh, no. In other words you’ld rather be ignorant so you can take cheap shots. I thought about it....you know who is a complete asshole and also successful and wealthy? Elon Musk. He conducts business same as if not worse than Trump and he's nearing $20B in wealth. Wow you’ve got me there....one more asshole in business.
In the end, the downside will be the status quo. Seems like sound strategy to me. I encourage you to paradigm shift the approach and assumptions you have for the POTUS.
Bullshit. Trump made a very specific quote. You chose to make something else out of it. You get zero points for that. I have no idea what you are talking about here. I gave you specific facts regarding the US trade deficit with the EU. We haven't been in a surplus in that regard since at least 1997. The other point being, you do no homework, no research, provide no facts just your own opinion. I asked you for ONE bit of info and you twist it into something irrelevant. I'm sorry but this is simple simon. I made no mention of Obama, nor Dubya. It's your right to call Trump insane all day long. Doesn't make you right. So how does Trump "look good" by calling the EU a trade foe? Folks in sales lack insight to overall business operations because your compensation system requires you to be selfish and insular. That isn't your fault BTW, it just is. When is the last time you signed the front of someone else's paycheck? Yes, I do and I make no apology for it. However, to say I have nothing to back myself up is utter bullshit. I provide facts when I can and that is quite often. You, OTOH, almost never do. As I explained to you by PM, I come to my opinion about the elder Bush through a source I am unwilling to divulge. I have never said that my opinion on that matter was anything BUT my opinion and I will stick to it. People can either judge me/my opinion based on my posting history and steadfast desire to get at the truth, or not. It makes little difference to me. If you see it as a choice to be ignorant, so be it. Perhaps I have no interest in sending you a PM to get a link to your linkedin page. That's not how I roll. I could give you a whole lot more but what would be the point? You would dismiss each of them out of hand. It's been nice and all but this is the last time I'll be fixing your quote issues. The discussion just isn't that important to me.
