So, at the very least, President Trump weighed in and offered suggestions on creating and releasing a press release,.. which was a misleading lie and cover-up.
http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/seth-rich-case-fox-news-made-fake-news-protect-trump-n788541 The lawsuit is very clear. Mr. Wheeler, who by the way is a regular FOX contributor, was paid by a Trump supporter to investigate the Seth Rich murder to see if there was any possible connection to the Clinton campaign. When Malia Zimmerman from FOX reported on the case she attributed two direct quotes to Mr. Wheeler that implied that Rich was murdered to cover up a DNC leak to Wikileaks. When Mr. Wheeler approached his benefactor about the misquote, he was told, "That's the way the President wants it." To boot, FOX news and Mrs. Zimmerman retracted the story a few days later after realizing that there was actually no evidence to support their claim. Further, it was said that this was an effort to detract from the ongoing Russia investigation, which seems to be par for the course for Trump and his administration. He's doing the same thing now by asking Republicans to investigate Clinton again.
