No doubt. We are seeing it displayed here by some of the posters on this thread. It is Trumps refusal to speak out on the issue and acting like the entire intelligence community is wrong. I believe this too. I think the economic sanctions have hurt the Russian economy. Maybe not the pockets of the oligarchs, as Winston suggested, but the overall economy is suffering. The fact that we are now producing exponentially more oil here is also hurting their economy, which almost entirely based upon oil and gas. I agree that it is all about money for Putin. But on the political side he knew that he had a better chance with Trump than Hillary regarding the economic sanctions.

I'm pretty sure the intelligence community has confirmed as much but part of their case for Russia trying to influence the election is that they didn't post a single Republican e-mail, just the Democrats.
