If Bush had come back to the United States he would not have been able to address the situation with Putin and the Russian president. Which he did. He was also able to speak with the Chinese leader over issues China and the United States disagree on. So give him a break just once, Red.

Not meaning to get on your case here as I mostly just read the FSA...... but.... Your post is crazy man. If you are saying what I think you are....

Are you saying that our president can't address crucial issues from Washington D.C.? You are saying that Bush would not have been able to address this issue if he were here in Washington?

While Obama, potentially the next President of the US, is showing he can handle the ordeal while vacationing in Maui.

I think Russia is definitely wrong with the amount of force they are using, I think they are trying to show dominance once again, trying to show the world their muscle is back. Which is wrong in this instance, its Georgia. Not another super power. I dont think their is anything wrong with Bush being in China, I think he is sending the right message to Russia.

Also, what does being in Hawaii have to do with this, they can speak on this conflict if they where on the toilet. Making an issue out of nothing is what this comment exemplifies.

Well, when somebody has an issue with the President being in China during all this, I think its fair to say that a Presidential candidate vacationing in Maui during all this is pretty much the same.

But I agree with you that they can deal with this conflict wherever they are.

Exactly, Bush can deal with this wherever, he can hold meetings, conference calls, and whatever. I think it is a great thing that he is in China supporting our athletes.

Agree. The internet, e-mail, cell phones, round-the-clock-media, etc., have made the world a lot smaller place.

I'm not suggesting that we go to war over South Ossetia. But we have to back up our allies and brace up the Russians from time to time to remind them that they do not call the shots and that actions have consequences. Time and time again the Russians have respected strength and backed off.
