I hope you can realize you are a part of the problem, embracing partisanship and dehumanizing those fellow Americans you believe are your opponents.
I disagree, the system is the problem because it separates one side from the other. You could probably say that for about 50 to 75 percent of the country or anyone that votes for the lessor of 2 evils because it causes grid lock, partisanship. Once again we don't live in a Utopian society. I never said anyone was inferior, I just said that the democrats values are wrong and I gave examples like I will once again. If you can disprove it and say I'm wrong go ahead and try. The Liberals and the Democrats are ignoring the Constitution and in some cases ignoring the supreme court ruling when not in their favor. They are taking away people's rights. 1) Perfect example is the DC gun ban 2) It goes against the Constitution that the good people of New Orleans guns were taken away after Katrina, get this, they had to go to a certain place at a certain time to get them back. 3) Right to smoking, trans fat, etc. Let me just say that I would love for government reform in this country including political reform but I fear its too late. I don't want to vote for McCain and I sure is heck aint gonna vote for Obama. I'd like to vote for Bob Barr but do I take that chance and help Obama get elected? I actually wish we could vote for people not parties. I actually hate politics but it is something we have to deal with. If the Libs didn't try and tell us how to live our lives by taking away rights, or so opposed to pro life I wouldn't have a problem with them. In closing, I find it interesting how the left calls out the right for telling them how to live their lives and yet they do the same thing by abortion, gun laws, eminent domain and taking away people's rights. Its called politics, both sides attack each others views, its the system and not the person.
I probably agree with you in many instances, but I don't embrace partisanship and I believe we can work together and treat each other with civility. I don't believe Democrats are evil and I don't think they are fully wrong in every instance. There are a lot of smart Democrats who have some valid arguments. Sure, some Democrats are off base, but I can say the same for Republicans. I don't remember anyone saying nasty things about the soldiers. Some on both sides opposed the war (and they really should be given credit for displaying the foresight that our leaders did not). We should speak our convictions in a democratic society, not fall in line with the dictates of leadership.
The degeneration of this thread is a perfect example of the degeneration of this country. No wonder the Russians don't fear us anymore.
I apologize! They better be scared. I believe someone stated in this exact thread that the Soviet air force is flying a bunch of old planes. The rest of the world would have to be down right stupid after what we were able to do during the Afghanistan and Iraqi war. The point I'm trying to make is the capability and accuracy to hit targets with very little detection by the enemy.
No, I apologize for not reading through everything. I admit that once I see a thread break down in to Dem vs. Rep, Conservative vs. Liberal, my eyes just glaze over. I do stand by the statement, though. We are so politically divided, at least in the government that we are not capable of providing a united front to the rest of the world and that does greatly weaken our position. I'm sick of it, personally.
I apologize for my part in it as well, and I agree, though I'm not sure what we would have to do to present a united front. Do we stand behind bad decisions for the sake of unity? I do recognize the value in trying to work with others and in fact that is what I've been arguing from the point this thread became derailed.
It is what it is, I don't care for partisanship but it will always be there. As long as the system is like it is we will have partisanship. One party is always out to get the other party. I never said democrats are evil, I said they are wrong. What does fully wrong mean? You keep using general terms like best for us, fully wrong? You either are right or wrong, the examples I gave you were instances of our rights being eroded. I won't disagree but that also doesn't mean they are right or wrong depending on the situation, once again general terms here. I don't disagree, I haven't said anything different. I just think democrats are wrong because of their stances on certain issues that take away our rights. So its ok with you if the dems attacked and said horrible things about the president and his administration and that the war was lost, unwinnable bringing down the moral of the American people and soldiers in this country. You are wrong anyway here, Jack Murtha practically called the Marines murderers! http://michellemalkin.com/2006/05/18/john-murtha-hangs-the-marines/ http://www.politico.com/blogs/thecr...may_be_a_big_problem_for_House_Democrats.html [/QUOTE] Some should also be condemned for their actions as well. Just because you think Iraq was wrong doesn't mean everybody does. You talk like you speak for everyone. You don't know the answer of this? And this is the point I've been arguing about in this thread. There are many things that both sides don't agree on. Just because you or I think somethings bad doesn't make it so. I've also said working together doesn't make something right or wrong. I've been trying to tell you that just because they compromise and work together doesn't make it right. One thing that I've noticed is that you keep using the word evil with democrats. I'm sure I've never used that term here, I think their wrong and gave examples. If you can give examples of why democrats are right please do. I don't want to keep having discussions about general terms. You use a lot of general terms like fully wrong, working together for the common good. I've given you so many examples of why this stuff doesn't work and why Democrats are wrong. I would argue that most of the time government just flat out gets it wrong but I would say that also includes republicans. You think I'm divisive, I wonder how you fill about Obama and those he associates with. His wife hates America, he and his wife have taken their children to that church were they run the country into the ground and teach divisiveness
I don't feel I am adequate enough to continue this conversation. Time to take ol' yeller out back and put him out of his misery.
