Agreed but I felt like we were banging our heads against the wall, should have tried something different. Btw as of midnight tonight I stop worrying about hat game and start worrying about next season
I also wonder why those headlines dont say something about TRYING ANY QB on the roster to win that game.................
It's bad right now guys. We had to watch 3 hours of agonizing, pitiful play in the most important game of college football against our most hated rivals. Not only did they shut LSU out, they absolutely dominated in every phase of the game. I'm still speechless.
But by doing something...ANYTHING! in attempt to shake things up--even if they fail all the same, is easier to swallow than doing not a damn thing at all! YOu want your head coach to always, ALWAYS be fighting to create a spark in the absence of one. Miles didn't do that last night....and in a lot of people's eyes, HE quit on the game. And sounds like some of his own players see it the same way.
TexasTigers - that is the whole point, it doesn't matter what anyone thinks whether Lee would have succeed or failed because it is too late we will never know. But isn't it worth knowing. We DEFINITELY know what we tried to do with JJ - DID NOT WORK - so wouldn't it at least have been nice to know whether or not Lee could have helped. That is like trying to save a bullet for the end of the fight just incase you might need it and you get shot dead with a bullet in the chamber, that bullet didn't do you much good did it?
AtlantaBengal - props to you, IMO you are spot on, hate to say it but Miles was afraid to get beat worse than he did. Your losing at what point does it matter if it is 21 - 0, 28-0 or 35-0. No matter what you got your ass beat. What he simple did get is if he would have tried everything at least people could say, well at least he tried to mix it up but that didn't work either. He left a bullet in the chamber just because he thought it would misfire and it would blow up on him. So what does that matter if your own bullet misfires or you get shot from your opponent, either way you lose and at least trying to fire the bullet you get credit for at least trying.
Russell Shepherd Yesterday he tweeted " I have a hard decision to make" After the game "OMG I played 3 plays" Is he thinking of leaving? Anybody know? Not that I think it would be a great loss as we are not utilizing him anyway, but curious if he is thinking of declaring. I don't see where he is on anybody radar.
He doesn't have the body of work to declare. He may be thinking of transferring to 1-AA or Division 2 to finish his college career. At least there he would get playing time.
He's just frustrated. As the #1 recruit a few years back, you feel like you should have accomplished more. He's between a rock and hard place. Certainly can't go pro and probably won't drop down either. He needs to work hard and try to make next year count. That's all he can do.
