Hey, I happened to really like that song!:dis: Maybe the reason you gave is the reason I can't find it on any of Paul McCartney's records?
I am a huge Paul McCartney fan as well as Stevie and that will forever remain an embarrassingly horrible song...I think even both paul and Stevie would say that privately
My extreme concerns about Russell going into the NFL had to do with smarts and pocket awareness. I didn't think he could read a defense to save his life....and he got away with it at lsu because things were much more simplified for him offensively and college defenses don't tend to be nearly as complicated, I definitely felt total lack of pocket awareness would be his downfall if nothing else. He was awful with it at lsu and it surely never improved once he got to the NFL. The total disrespect he showed to the raiders by not trying was the saddest chapter in this entire mess.
I was gonna post the video of Joe Piscopo and Eddie Murphy but couldnt find it! And Ray Charles did do a duet with Willie Nelson
Now, THAT was a hilarious version of "Ebony and Ivory." I think one of the lines went something like, "You're blind as a bat, while I have sight..."
This is the bottom line with the whole debacle in Oakland. Of course, that's a franchise set to fail anyway, but Russell did nothing to help himself at all. Regardless, I hate to take away from his time at LSU. Perhaps he could've been even better than he was, but he was good while he was here--most of the time. I'm disappointed in him as a pro, but I hope that a team picks him up, and he can redeem himself (if he wants to.) Maybe he's one of those guys that was built to play football, but actually doesn't love it?
