I was wrong about Marcus Randall. For an explanation of why I think I was wrong, look no further than Rick Ankiel of the St. Louis Cardinals...I explained his situation in a reply, but I wasn't logged in while typing, and I lost the whole damn thing...

Marcus is a "Minor League Maddux"...Like a pitcher in the Minors whose got stuff that will take your breath away. He blows through teams in the Carolina and the Texas League...but you get him under the lights and the flashbulbs start popping, and that amazing control and lightning fast velocity is lost in the hum-drum of the thoughts going through that pitcher's mind...He may have great physical stuff....but his mental stuff is bush league...

Marcus-it seems-has been cursed with that affliction. Now, playcalling, ineptitude from an execution standpoint on the offensive line's part, and poor field conditions all played a hand in this sorry tale, but as I said before...Winners face adversity and respond to it. Those final three throws of the half were not a response to adversity...They were a signal that someone had given in to it...They had allowed themselves to be defeated...

Marcus proved to me there-at that point-that he no longer needed to be in the position he was in, as starting quarterback.

I hope that I'm not just wrong once, but twice...I hope that Marcus proves me and all the naysayers wrong, and that I'm typing this in haste. I'm hoping that he breaks out and comes back and responds to this set of challenges like I once knew that he could.

But, at this point, I'm inclined to say that I don't think he can...It's personal opinion.

I'm sorry I'm not always right for you, dheadtiger...I would hope that someday I could attain your status of perfection with every word spoken on this forum...You truly do sum up the "Chat With Class" that you have under your name...

    Carry on...

I was waiting for your reply TE. And I commend you for being a man about the fact that you now think you are dead wrong about Randall. I still disagree that the kid has that much talent, other than running ability.

    So cudos to you.

Unlike Ramah, who has not said diddly squat about his bold predictions last week and how our O-line would demolish the ultra small and weak D-line of OSU.

So once again, cudos to you.

I was also a supporter of Randall before Saturday night based on the fact that he knew he had the first shot at being the main man for the last 8 months and that he had showed some flashes of talent in past games. I'm sure he has worked his azz off to eliminate the inconsistencies from his game but sometimes hard work just isn't enough.

The question now after the OSU game is whether we can even depend on Randall to be an adequate backup. What happens if Russell gets better and better and then goes down in the first half against Georgia or Florida? Its time to get Matt Flynn ready to at least be ready to take over.

Nice posts by everyone on this thread but one game does not make a season. We play bad against Florida last year and it was a wake up call. You all know the rest of the story.

Oregon State is similar team comparing to Florida last year & they are very well coach. The weather is also effect the outcome since we cant use speed to our advantage.

As far as QB situation goes, c. Saban will have to pick one for the SEC schedule which coming up. My guess would be Russell but I'm not the coach & neither are you.

Listen, the only reason I brought it up was because a couple of months ago you would totally rip somebody a new ass for disagreeing with your thoughts on MR. You abused the hell out of some of the newer posters on here for not getting on. Definitely no status of perfection on this forum from me............................but "Chat with Class", if you bring it, for sure. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
