Lee's stats are from this year, since he's the only QB that's been in the game for redzone plays, whatever our stats are as a team are Lee's stats. This year LSU is 95% scoring in the redzone (under Lee) with the only miss being RR's dropped pass. LSU is scoring a TD 80% of the time in the redzone. Every year that JJ was a starter our numbers have been LOWER. Come on Red I shouldn't have to be breaking it down this far for you. YOUR STATEMENT was that JJ should be used in redzone environments because, and I quote, "Jefferson has legs and has always been better than Lee inside the red zone, where passes are short anyway. Jefferson in the game complicates a defensive coordinator's short yardage defense." My response was that statics do not back this up. Which they don't. We're actually WORSE with JJ in redzone situations. 87% is a detriment when compared to 95%.
See, the thing that worries me is that all Spring all we heard from CLM is "Jordan Jefferson is MY quarterback". All 'summer' and prior to the Shady's incident: "Jordan Jefferson is MY quarterback". Now, after all that Lee has shown and proven on the field have you *once* heard CLM say "Jarrett Lee is MY quarterback" ?
This is the best summary of the situation I have read. Gen George Patton said "Don't take counsel of your fears" All of you who have been jabbering about JJ stepping in and/or causing dissention show no faith in Miles' leadership. Miles knows this team and knows the team trusts his decision in this and other manners. Don't fear the future embrace it. :geaux:
Just so you guys know If JJ comes back I only want him to carry the clip board JL should get 100% of all snaps unless game is put away !!!!!!
NOPE! That's what bothers us ardent JLee fans. In the back of our minds, JJ is still CLM's QB. JJ comes back, and CLM starts giving him opportunities to "compete" .. then we transition to that 2 QB B.S. ... then our offense falls apart. The question for me has never been how great JJ is in practice ... he's beat out everybody in "practice" ... the problem, it does not consistently translate to performance on the field.
That would be the key question. It is also a tough question for Miles to solve: 1. stay with the original backup QB who proved himself on the field four times this season and with the team offense clicking well. 2. stick with the original starter QB who has been away from the team and unproven this season. Miles will definitely start inserting JJ in (if reinstated), and let him prove himself on the field, but not at the expense of the team winning the game. Only when JJ plays lights out and has a passing game as good as Lee's will he take over Lee's spot.
Why do people assume it will disrupt anything? The team is eager to get a teammate back and have made it clear. Les isn't going to hurt his team by rejecting Jefferson nor by anointing him instant starter. Like everyone else coming of injury or suspension without practicing, Jefferson will have to work his way back into the lineup. He's going to have to cheerfully back up Lee as Lee has cheerfully backed up Jefferson for two years. This team has proved already that it is not easily distracted.
So you don't actually have individual stats for Lee and Jefferson in any other year, then? Well those are scoring percentages from the red zone, not TD percentages. We can't credit a quarterback for field goals. And the 87% is for LSU, not for any particular quarterback. You may have a case, but the stats you are using are confusing, mixing team and individual numbers.
