I honestly don't know how I'd feel about JJ coming back. JL is playing great and simply looking over his shoulder at JJ on the bench might affect his performance. If JL keeps playing well, I'd prefer not to see JJ for a series here and there. If it ain't broke... (especially since it's been broke for the past few years). I also feel pretty good about having Mett as a backup. On the other hand, I think JJ would've been much improved this year. It also seems like he was royally screwed by this entire situation given the circumstances. Players close to the situation probably have his back given he may not have been in the wrong. My best case scenario is that he comes back to the team in the next couple of weeks, is available as a backup (or 3rd string) in case Lee struggles or gets injured. If Lee keeps playing well, JJ redshirts and comes back next year to compete for the job with Mett.
Don't worry, Les Miles sometimes has the gift of tongues...It really throws Nick Satan off the track. :yelwink2:
it means JJ will accept his role as backup and like it when and if reinstated to this team. its probably so far down the road its a non-issue.
That's how I read the quote. They would fall into their expected contributions. After being off the team for 6+ weeks, their expected contributions are to bring water to people who are thirsty and be ready to play if SHTF.
I'm totally onboard with Lee taking us the rest of the way. Don't mess with success. I hate the 2 QB system (I have to watch that up here at PSU also). If JJ is reinstated, but he is going to need a few weeks to get in game shape, wouldn't the redshirt option be best for everyone?
There are any number of threads and posts praising The Hat and giving him much love. Why not trust him to do what's right?
we can but we can also speculate so we can brag who was right. and watch you complain which accomplishes even less, in the meantime.
How does this prove me wrong? Your numbers do not say this. What is your source, by the way? The point is that it is Jeffersons legs that help us inside. You seem to ignore his rushing TD's. I'll let you spin the "statics". Jefferson is an asset in short yardage situations. If you can't see it, you ain't lookin'.
