Saban would have gone down and put several layers of duct tape on the kid's mouth. Miles really needs to do more than make a simple visit. Geeesh! <end sarcasm>
So you happen to know what Miles told him? Or do you really believe that Saban would have put duct tape on his mouth? I'm sure now that RP is committed to LSU and can't just change his mind that Les has laid down the law to him, as the article said, now the de-recruiting starts.
I don't know if you know but RP is not going to play basketball for LSU and Shaq didn't win $h!t @ LSU so your comparison doesn't make sense to me. I never checked but did RP have a bad season record wise in high school? Did he ever win a high school championship? Really I don't know about his HS record but stats, I would say he had a great HS career.
I agree. Even if RP had not made any questionable comments, I think it's a good policy. Not many Freshmen are in a position to adequately deal with the media. Some don't even think about what they're saying, or how what they say may be taken the wrong way.
Excuse me, but BULLLLLL CHIT! You talk smack to opponents, not to teammates. And you do it man-to-man, not in the friggin' newspapers. What a weenie.
You do understand that it takes more than one player to win a title don't you? And Ryan still made it to the Round of 8 by himself... dominating on offense AND defense... In basketball if you are the tallest man, you can just shoot over everyone... it is hard NOT to get tackled when 11 people are running at you: That is why Mike Vick dont win the Super Bowl: You can't compare apples and oranges buddy! I'm sorry!
Can I get a good AMEN??? If this kid continues with this attitude and these comments, he's going to do nothing but make the current team resent him. And I don't mean just the QB's. He (and some of you apparently) fail to admit or recognize that the current QB's have been developing relationships with the other players for 2+ years now. It was awesome this year when all of the players supported Randall and Russell when each were struggling. Nobody ragged on either one. No one pointed a finger or said anything negative. Why? Because 1) they were mature about the whole situation, and 2) they respect their fellow teammates, and have their back so to speak. I would lay money that none of the current tigers are cool with what RP is saying, and that can ONLY be bad for everyone. And if he comes in with this huge chip on his shoulder, acting like he's the saviour that LSU's been waiting for, there's going to be some major friction. LSU just won a national championship, and won 9 games in a "rebuilding" season without RP. It's great to have him, but it's not like LSU wasn't experiencing success without him. It's one thing to show up, impress everyone, and EARN the starting job over the other 2, but to basically declare it yours before you even finish high school, and in doing so insult the current players, that's just not cool. His parents and his high school coach should have taught him better than that.
Yes, I'd kind of agree with you there. Round of 8 by himself??? Guess his receivers making all those spectaular runs and catches didn't help at all. Nor did his defensive teammates or his O-line. Whew!!!
