Well, I'll mention them on the air tom. Not enough time to list. There were about 4 guys I could find nothing on. I have about 24 or so of the guys. atleast 6 of them left b/c of playing time. 4 were holdovers from Brown who were in trouble b/c of the Earl situation and jobs that werent jobs and all that. There were also a few that left and became good players at lower levels. I'll make sure to mention them on the air tom.
Only a handful of people here will hear you on the air. Let us know here what ya find out. After your show tomorrow of course.
Gene Nabors....transfered to Robert Morris and was a stud. averaged 19 points. But, that was in the NEC. He was one who left after Dale left. Tiger Womack....One of Brown's recruits and was a name thrown around in the Lester Earl Debacle Rogers Washington....Alleged he was paid 300-400 dollars by Jim Moore of PA. Brown Recruit. left after 97-98 Bob Hall...Says he was given gifts, meals, trips by 4 or 5 sports agents. He allegedly received around $2000 in gifts. left after 96-97. Brown recruit. Reggie Tucker...Redshirt in first year at LSU. Averaged 3 points a game.Played at Utah Stae and Juco. Graduated from LSU in 99. Ronaldo Bratton... Left LSU, went to SMU and was accused of inappropriatley touching a cheerleader. Faced Expulsion. Chico Potts...Avg 2.9 points a game for LSU in 97-98. Went to Delta State where he was very solid. He was all GSC. He came to LSU from Lon Morris. He was a stud at lower levels but didnt do much in the SEC. Rhondaria Castor...no info Darryl Robbins...Accademically ineligable...went to ULL and was a decent contributor. He was a 5 points a game kinda guy. Omar Mance...Was a freshmen starter for LSU. Wanted to be transferred to Rice where the emphasis was less on sports. Very sound academically. played pro ball overseas. Brian Helquist...transfered to Juco school in florida. Went on to play for a good Oregon team in 03. Contributed 3 points to the team. Would have been solid for the Brady bunch. Dont know reason for leaving. Daryl Cooper...Transfered to Ga. State. Jamaal Wolfe...avergaged 1.4 points a game. Transfered to SELU. Jamal Harrison....Shaqs brother...shaq paid for him to attend LSU so he could walk on. Played in 1 game. Jue Michaeal Young...Suspended in 01 for team code of conduct standards. Hit a girl. Transfered to Chipola JC then to LA tech. Played for a bad LA Tech team and averaged 8 points 4 boards Shawnson Johnson....Unhappy about mins...Walked out at halftime of Deleware state game because he didnt play in the first half. He and Brady never saw eye to eye. He want on to be successful at NT. He is currently with the arkansas rimrockers of the ABA. Tony Gipson...Playing time casualty. Also had some academic issues. Had to miss half of first season b/c of academic issues. Regis...playin time Mildon Ambres...Playing time. Left after one exhibition game. Went on to SO. Miss and averaged 7 points in 20 mins. They beat LSU, but werent to good b/c of lost players. Tim Bush...Was another p.t casualty. left as a sophmore. Went on to play for a horrible Baylor team ravaged by sanctions steming from the Dennehey situation. Averaged 12 points/ game last year. But, its not hard to be a stud amongst bad players. Jaime..well you all know the story there... Courtney Task...no info Carter...No info Thomas Davis...he and Brady were not the best of friends. Marqus Ledoux....avg 1.7 points for the Tigers in 16 games in 98-99. Career average of 3 points and 4 boards a game over 3 years. Not that great, but again could have been some help. But, the year after he left, LSU was good with Stro. Neltner...wanting more P.T somewhere else. Possibly not understanding of his role.
Not at all. I can't be in a client's office and listening to TSR at 11am. (or in my vehicle, or at home via internet feed) :thumb: Wow, nice list ya posted. Thx.
In the Reveille this morning, there was an AP report stating that Neltner will be playing for West Virginia. Unfortunately I don't have a link at this time.
Also let's not forget about Robert Jupiter - who went on to play for UL-Lafayette and averaged about 5 points a game there. And that other kid that went pro straight from JUCO a few years ago that Brady signed. I think the Celtics drafted him. What was his name?
Thanks for a solid piece of research work there, scrappy. Its clear from what you learned that not many of these guys would have contributed much to the program had they stayed their full four years. Which then begs the question, why were they here, in most cases using up a scholarship, to begin with. Brady has without question done a better job than Brown did (in his later years) of getting the top talent in the state to come to LSU. But you can only go so far when you've only got 6-7 SEC calibre players year after year. Right now I see a program that is treading water, stuck at roughly the same level of accomplishment year after year. The incoming recruiting class is cause for optimism, but now you lose a guy who was going to provide you depth, and if Bass leaves, there's a major hole to fill. We essentially end up in the same boat, 6-7 good players and no depth. A change has to take place if the program is to elevate itself. It doesn't necessarily have to be replacing Brady, but when you're stuck in a rut, you better rock the car a little, or you'll just keep spinning your wheels.
And that other kid that went pro straight from JUCO a few years ago that Brady signed. I think the Celtics drafted him. What was his name?[/QUOTE] That was either Kwaame or Kendrick Brown.
