Yeah, that's what I was thinking, too. Although, the way it reads, it kind of sounds like it WILL rollover, unless the chancellor recommends that it doesn't. If that's the case, and it did automatically rollover...wow.
Geez, did the AD let Les write this contract or something? I can't believe a top athletic program would give a coach such an insane amount of leverage for 8-win seasons.
Right. But, I read in another place where the contract wasn't rolled over. Meaning, he didn't get the year added. I dunno.
Ok, this article from Glenn Guilbeau says that it was NOT rolled over each of the last two seasons, but then goes on to say that there are 4 years left. So confused... LSU players want to keep Les Miles 'off the hot seat' - USATODAY.com Another that says that it wasn't rolled over, but calls it a 6 year contract: LSU football: Les Miles feeling heat entering sixth season | NOLA.com
He signed a six-year contract in 2008 that was not rolled over the last two years, leaving four years after this season. LSU football: Les Miles feeling heat entering sixth season | NOLA.com
This is the contract he signed in 2008: http://i.usatoday.net/sports/graphics/2009/coaches-contracts/pdf/miles_lsu.pdf Page 9 says the term is through December 31st, 2012. Chancellor is authorized to extend the term.
It also says that the contract will roll over if 8 or more games are won each season. So did that happen or not?
