Yep, the USC media cult is about to be back in full force. Here is what you will here. They are, playing better than anyone, no one would beat them at this point, should be number 1, probably should have been playing for the MNC, and all other slurp-fest comments that had slightly diminished. Look for USC to be number 1 in pre-season 2008. At that point, you'll hear, this may be the best USC team ever, they'll definitely run the table, PC will have the best defense of any USC team ever, PC will have the best offense of any USC team ever, and on and on and on. God I get sick of it.:geauxtige :crystal:
Probably true t-pub. OSU will be facing the media cult twice in 5-games. With USC falling from grace this season, the SEC angle became their new topic to beat to death. Like most subjects, that oversaturation came at the expense of something impressive, like your conference, which became so unbearably hyperbolic that one can't truly respect it.
Ron Zook's staff sure is obsessed with the horizontal offense... even on 4th & goal from the 12. SC's D is as fast as anyone, yet they keep letting them showcase that speed sideline to sideline. Baffling. The first time they attacked downfield vs SC, they drove the length of the field. Probably would still have lost, but it would have been nice to see more aggressive playcalling.
Re: Joe McKnight Aint it funny, the two best offensive players on the USC team is from Louisiana. I guess they must be running out of players in Cali!
Yes, the Rose Bowl Committee is going to take a lot of heat for putting these two teams together instead of USC vs Georgia (if that was possible, I never looked up how the selection process went this year). But the beautiful thing for LSU is that if the Rose Bowl Committee had picked a real opponent for USC (someone like Georgia), and USC hammered them, the AP might have given their National Championship to USC like they did in 2003. But because of the Rose Bowl Committee's decision to stick with tradition, they just cost USC any chance of winning the AP National Championship the way they did for the 2003 season by virtue of #1 USC's beat-down of #4 Michigan in the Rose Bowl.
Wouldn't have happened. In '03, the #1 and #2 teams in the AP going into the BCS game were not the ones playing, this year they are.
Re: Joe McKnight still pisses me off and F reggie bush for talking him into and F jt curtis for letting it happen. Would love to see that program get busted but it won't happen. They recieve a free pass that no other schools get.
The overhyped Rose Bowl hasn't been worth a darn in many years. The Sugar and Orange...and now Fiesta are always more enjoyable than the "traditional" Pac-1 vs. Big 11 matchup. Most bowl games have a fan fest or parade to set the stage for the game. The Rose Bowl is only a consolation to the Rose Bowl parade. BORING!!!
Re: Joe McKnight I don't really care much anymore that he isn't here. As someone stated earlier, we always always have a stable of RB's. I don't know if Mcknight can be an every down back at this stage, maybe soon. If he didn't want to go to LSU, I could care less about him. Maybe I'll root for him later on...
