Riddle me this, Rome Dome: If Saban has expressed disinterest in the NFL (recent quote about immature people in the NFL), what "better job" in college is out there that is available? He is sitting in a recruiting hotbed in Louisiana and seems to have things flowing his way. Bertman has already made a public overture for a raise in the $2 million range. He likes the area and his family is happy. Sure, he could leave, but the indicators seem to show otherwise.
This is not the time in Saban's life for him to want to move. Anyone who has a kid who's in high school knows that the last thing you want is to disrupt their high school careers--and Saban's son is happy at Catholic High School. The daughter is nearly or already in high school too. So I think Saban is here for at least another two years (for the son) and maybe five (for the daughter to finish), unless something unforeseen happens. I agree with the poster above who says that Baton Rouge is special, and I think the Sabans have found that out.
Thats why Rome's callers are more entertaining than the callers of most sports talk shows. If you have an entertaining and well thought out take on something he will let you finish. If you are boring or stupid he will cut you off in a heartbeat. Whether people like Rome or hate him they listen. At one time Howard Cosell was both the most hated and the most liked sports announcer at the same time. Romey is laughing all the way to the bank.
Try listening to that awful Sports gumbo show with that wimpy voiced Jon Fine. You'll appreciate Rome quickly.
