Rome's style is to fawn all over the athletes he interviews. Likewise his "clones" fawn all over him. "Oh, Romie, thanks for the vine, you're the greatest, you're the man, everyone else sucks but you, blah, blah, blah." If that's what the folks out in SoCal like to listen to, I can't say that I would be surprised.
I sent Rome a pretty curt e-mail yesterday, chastising him for calling the Rose Bowl the "de-facto NC game". I also told him that henceforth, I think I'll be tuning in to Limbaugh in the afternoons.
Richdog, Not sure if you are calling me out, but I was talking about LA (as in Los Angeles). Out here, almost everyone does listen to this jerk. And when I moved out here he was very popular (just starting to get his national TV show). Pastimer summed up Rome's act fairly well, it is all about "giving props" to the flavor of the month. I equate Rome with the new flashy style uniforms.
Rome does his thing to make money, can't blame him for that. Everyone is entitled to an opinion even , in his case re the LSU - OU NC game, if it is uninformed, incorrect, wrong , completely biased etc. What is absolutely pathatic is these "clones" who call into his show for the sole purpose of imitating him, hence the name "clone". Here's a "shout out" to you "clones": GET A FREAKIN LIFE (or how about at least a job where you cannot listen to the radio for 2 or 3 hours a day). OUT !
I don't listen to Rome because I just couldn't take the clones. I don't mind Rome himself, but I don't like the format of the callers. It's not sports talk, but more like sports insult and name calling.
I can't believe anyone listens to this guy. I wish 1210 would put on something else during that time frame; hog reports, Al Gore explaining how he invented everything, quantum physics lessons, anything would be better than this idiot.
