In the first three quarters Alabama gave a lesson in how to stop Arkansas. In the fourth quarter the Hogs gave a lesson in how to beat the Tide. We'll learn lessons from both and win both games.
Shula should make those idiot players that celebrated run extra laps...that was just dumb. They hadn't won the game...just had an interception. C'mon Bama...act like you've been there before.
18 year old kids playing above their heads all night, sweating, emotional, giving it their all...they deserve to be emotional. They celebrated with each other. Not as one..(showboating.)...Not in the face of Arky players(taunting)... they celebrated as a team(per it's been a long night and we're proud of you). I don't agree with that call and It wouldn't matter what team the kids were on I would still feel the same way. The refs are asking them not to be proud...and exceited...I'm sorry flame away, but that should not have been called. Year in and year out this happens, its never consistent, its more of an opinion call and more times than not its Bull crap. We probably would not have won anyway...but still, let them celebrate as a team in an emotional, draining, give it all ya got game. If it doesn't disrespect the other team or its not hot doggin it, let it be.
It is a terrible rule. But all teams know about it. No matter how bad the rule is the ref's will call it. It does suck though. Alabama had their chance. The kicker just missed. It was a tough game.
THey "rolled" alright....Rolled right over and died after having a 21 point lead. D@mn, 'Bama!!! Even when I'm pulling for them, they manage to do something that ticks me off!
The excessive celebration rule is the most idiotic, lame brained, un-thought out and just plain stupid rule since the dawn of civilization. JMHO.
I agree - No Showboating, No Taunting -- NO CALL. When the rule came out, I liked it A LOT. I HATED it when a player (pro or college) would pump his chest to the opposing team or take off his helmet so the world could see HIM (especially when F$U was involved as this was a TEAM TRADEMARK). And, I thought that the "Excessive Celebration" rule was meant SPECIFICALLY for these incidents. But, NOW they've gone too far with the rule. Remember against Arizona when Devery or Skylar was hit with the penalty because he high fived a couple of fans in the endzone after a touchdown??? THAT WAS F*&(KING RIDICULOUS. Let the kids show some emotion. As long as they don't taunt or showboat - the rule should not apply.
I can see why you want Arkansas to lose. You don't want them Hogs coming into Baton Rouge on a roll because they could keep LSU from winning the west again. I could have pulled for Georgia or Miss. State but I wasn't. I was pulling for you hard against Georgia because thats east vs. west. Now if it was at the end of the year and the Hogs was one game behide LSU . I would have pulled for Georgia, but that would be the only time. LSU 2-0 VS. Bulldogs . Good luck against the Gators and beat them up good because they play us after LSU.
Hey, shmuck...How about RATIONAL thought behind us wanting Arkansas to lose...It's called DIVISIONAL OPPONENT. I could care less what kind of roll your pigs are on come last game of the season--We're on quite a good one ourselves if you haven't noticed...But the MAIN reason I want (as do many other Tiger fans) want Arkansas to lose is because just like every OTHER SEC West team, it would have given them a conference loss. Anytime a West team plays an East team, I want the East to win. And I know 'Bama is in the west--but they aren't eligible for a title this year. So, they could go undefeated and it would not matter.
