I dont know about LSU no using the TE more. Maybe since Saban has been here, but before Saban I remember Brian Kinchen and David Lefluer being a major part of our offense...
Speaking of Lafleur. I remember when he and Nicky Savoie were here. They would run this route where Savoie was at the right TE and run a deep out. Lafleur was on the left and would run a short crossing pattern. Herb would throw to Lafleur and when he turned up field Savoie was there to clean out the defender. Worked wonderful several times.......remember one in the Peach bowl against Clemson where Savoie almost killed the defender.
