You've got to go to the link to the ARK board to see what I'm talking about.

Just wanted to reiterate that this thread started out complimenting Rohans play in last nights Pats game. The crybaby pig/hog forum was whining about his beating Ark. They posted pictures about his looks.

    Good luck Ro!!!

(Although the picture does have an uncanny .......)

All it will take is 1 injury to Brady and he could get his chance. The Pats D is good enough, IMO, to where he wont need to take over the game either...

USA Today, today, had team by team article discussing the most heated competition for a position. At New England it was between Rohan and the #2 guy (can't remember his name) for backup to Brady. The article said Rohan is showing well but the #2 guy is having an impressive camp after a slow start. They mentioned the Saints but my motto this season is Screw the Saints.

    Here's what the article said:

BATTLE OF THE WEEK: Damon Huard vs. Rohan Davey for the backup QB job — Two years ago, Huard watched second-year passer Tom Brady leapfrog him on the depth chart only to go on to become Super Bowl MVP and now Rohan Davey is trying to do the same in his second year. "Damon is our number two quarterback until someone throws better than he is," Belichick said. So far, that hasn't happened. Huard is having a solid camp, but after a slow start, Davey came on in the last few days of July. The preseason games will go a long way in deciding this battle. Huard still takes care of the ball better than Davey, who is working to develop better consistency.

If you want to check out the link, there's a lot said about Kevin Faulk as well.

After his freshman year, I was able to purchase the white helmet Rohan wore in the Indy Bowl. The next Fan Day, I went out to have him sign it. He was SUPER NICE. And, when I was standing there, he stood up for a second. I'm 6'1" about 225 and Rohan DWARFED ME. He is ONE BIG S.O.B. I know they list him at 6'3", but he seemed A LOT bigger. He could have FILLED a freakin doorway. I remember thinking - if I were a 6' 185 corner, I would not want this guy bearing down on me.

I think he has the body of someone 6'5" or 6'6" but he just has a short neck. NBA people are always talking about a player having the wingspan of a 7'5" guy, so I think the same thing could be said about Rohan.

Here's the stuff about Kevin Faulk:
Faulk is the one taking advantage of extra opportunities, just as he did in the second half of last season when he was arguably the team's MVP. During the final nine games of 2002 he carried 34 times for 179 of his 271 yards, caught 27 of his 37 passes for 274 of his 379 receiving yards and returned 18 of his 26 kickoffs for 553 of his 725 kickoff return yards. That production and the injuries at the position have given Faulk a chance to expand his role.

"Kevin had a very productive season last year and we'll give him every opportunity to display his skills this year," Belichick said. "And he has a variety of them as a runner, returner and receiver. We hope Kevin can be as productive as he was last year or maybe more so in some other areas like the running game. He's getting an opportunity to show that."

Redmond, meanwhile, could be out of a job. After carrying just four times for 2 yards and catching just 2 passes last year, there doesn't seem to be a place for him in the backfield mix, especially since the club signed fullback Larry Centers to be its third down back — a role in which Redmond lost to Faulk last season.

Faulk now finds himself competing for carries as an early down runner and also for the role as third down back he filled so well last season. What Centers adds besides an NFL running back record 808 career receptions for 6,691 yards, is a proven pass blocker, a skill not listed among Faulk's strengths.

"Kevin played a lot on third down (last year) and we can certainly have both of those guys in the game at the same time or maybe not, depending on what Kevin's role is on first and second down. There is some competition on third down and on first and second down," Belichick said.

While it would seem difficult to believe that Faulk, at 5-8, 202 pounds, could overtake Smith as the No. 1 back, Belichick is legitimately giving him that chance, and it's not just coach speak. He clearly is unimpressed with what Smith is giving him so far, but with few options, he must look to his own roster. Faulk is the only guy still there who can compete.

New England Patriots = LSU North
