Disappointing that RJF said this. You just don't express hope that an opposing player takes an injury.
I understand your point but it's difficult to get past the obvious. Tebow's not gonna come out of this game unless he's injured and knocking him out of the game would seem to mean injuring Tebow. Nobody associated with LSU should even appear to condone this. We should always hope that every player finishes the game healthy. That being said, I don't have a problem with physical defense that leaves injured QBs in it's wake, injuries are a part of football but it's not a goal.
I agree. My point is that just because these guys make comments like this, doesn't mean they will play with malicious intent towards each other. I don't think RJF or anyone else for that matter is gonna take a dirty shot at Tebow and intentionally try to injure him. I don't wish injuries on anyone either. I guess my whole outlook is this, they gotta vent. They gotta try to get under each other's skin. It's part of the game plan. Unfortunately, if something were to happen to Tebow, we'll get the finger pointed at this statement and I agree, that would be bad.
Make all the excuses you want, it's isn't good strategy to piss off your opponent and give them emotional energy.
I think I would have rathered he said he was gonna take his woman after beating the gators and show her a real man. She got bigguns and I can totally get behind this.
Hey, perhaps they are just pumped up from one of Miles speeches and he just had to release some of that built up anticipation. I can't wait to see that truckload of pent up rage explode on that line.
He could have at least gotten his money's worth and made a comment about knocking Tebow's jorts off. That would have been way better.
He shouldnt have said it to the point where he is advocating injuring Tebow. However, lets not beat this into the ground, Florida is already going to be motivated playing the #4 team at home. Miles has made jokes and other colorful remarks, which I have agreed with. If this is how RJF motivates himself and his teammates let it be, but he should have kept the injury part out of it.
