I hope RJF didn't actually say that. It should be difficult to find a sportsman who doesn't wish that every player finishes the game healthy.

Just a kid being a kid and the media being the media. Kids say stupid stuff, that's what kids do. The media will take anything and run with it and blow it out of proportion and then publish it...that's what the media does. The one thing that is for sure that is in the last two years the winner of this game also won the BCS NC. I think that says it all as to the importance of the game itself. Who knows what will happen with the rest of the season but we do know what has happened the last two seasons.

As for the game if we do not have any better of a game plan or in game coaching (Mullen, Meyer, Strong) than we have shown thus far, LSU will walk away with at least a 10 pt victory and be poised for a NC run. I just want the game to be settled on the field like it has been the past two years. No stupid ref calls one way or the other. That way there is no complaints by either side.

that's just stupid to say out loud, to a reporter. But really, does anybody think that Fla is gonna play harder because of it? This game is huge for both teams, and I doubt it adds any motivation.

Wow, that was a stupid thing to say. I don't think players should have an attitude of trying to injure somebody, that just isn't right. This will give motivation to the UF OL and Tebow. I have a feeling that UF will use this comment big time.

Miles needs to have the team not say stuff like this. Not a smart move RJF.

I saw the ticker on ESPN and couldnt believe it.

It wasnt the smart thing to say regardless of your motivation Clair. Please dont try and justify those comments. RJF made a mistake like all kids do. I bet he wishes he could take it back.

What a foolish thing to say.

This is one of my only criticisms of Miles. He doesn't have tight enough control over players and the media.

Of course RJF isn't saying anything EVERY defensive lineman isn't thinking every singe down but you just don't say it. Emotion is fuel and you don't give your opponent fuel.

I thought LSU has a professor who is supposed to be very good at media relations. This team needs a course. Of course Miles isn't one to be PC in front of the cameras either.

Tighten up on the players coach.

So, do we think the intensity level's going to be just a bit higher than it was for MSU?

That being said, I hate to tweek Tebow's nose. He's dangerous.

Who cares about PC? So what if Florida gets a little angry. It will do either 1 of 2 things:

    1) Lights a fire under their arse making them play harder and win
    2) Gets under their skin, they lose their cool, we win.

RJF mentioned that it's not like they wanna kill the guy or something, "take him out of the game" could be taken other ways.. i.e. - Keeping Tebow rattled so he can't be effective passing, etc... It's not like he said "I wanna break the guy's neck and f*ck start his head"...

These are all very competitive guys and they have respect for each other. But, they have to be able to talk a little smack. Personally, if it were me I wouldn't be spouting off until after the game, but I don't blame the players, or Miles for that matter, for things that get said from time to time. It's football, and more times than not, our team exhibits class.
