The State of LSU Pitching 2theadvocate.com | Sports | Zach Lee could bolster depleted LSU staff — Baton Rouge, LA The above article sums up all the issues LSU faces ranging from surgery , transfers and the MLB ! Odd that three of our pitchers needed Tommy John surgery. I wonder if that is coincidence or something to do with the way we handle our pitchers. Overuse? Bad mechanics? Both? Sure hope this isn't a trend. My son is a pitcher and I have become very educated on how important good mechanics are for the longevity of a pitchers arm. Not saying its the case @ LSU because I honestly don't know, but coaches will overlook bad mechanics if the pitcher is getting the job done. A former MLB pitcher told me this so I know there has to be some truth to it. Anywho, we'll know more come Tuesday. EDIT: Duh, sorry I didn't see this thread had been started.
It all has the making for another let down season in 2011. Not good, not good at all. I wonder if they could use a 40+ pitcher who hasn't pitched in 20 yrs. I might be able to muster up a 40 mph fast ball.
That's Okie, unselfish and ready to make a sacrifice for the team. I say occupy away if you have to do so.
