What's the chance what they say will mean diddly-squat?

It's all what happens on the field, and only on the field ... well, that and the funky BCS ratings (e.g. SOS considerations), penalties, injuries, illness, player conduct and a little dogsh*t luck thrown in.

IMO, at this point the three best possibilities are:

    USC vs. LSU
    LSU vs. Texas
    USC vs. Texas

Please let it be USC vs. LSU, but lots of USC fans want USC vs. Texas-sans-Vince.

Yes. If every other team has 2 losses it could happen. WVU, Louisville, Rutgers, Boise etc. would have to have one loss also. Because by that point any undefeated team will get the chance to play for the MNC.

Maybe not lots but those are only the ones who just can't grasp the fact that Texas without VY is not the Texas that won the Rose Bowl in 2006. There is ZERO revenge factor especially when you consider what a p***y schedule they have this year. What could possibly be gained by beating a team with a weak schedule just because their QB kicked USC's D 2 years previous?

Maybe a lame analogy but would you rather hook up with a former flame or the one you lusted after who got away? The game has got to be played in order for any satisfaction. Texas? No thanks. LSU? Helllllloooo NOLA.

Good point. That kind of an early NC game projection is the kiss of death.

That's easily the quote of the night, I agree! But sometimes they get it right, in 2005, they got USC vs. Texas right, both went undefeated. It could happen, but we've got an awful lot of work to do, and need some luck in close games.

On the other hand, its nice to see us get some credit. It should also motivate the players, to see what they can possibly achieve if they work hard, hang together, and keep their focus. It's there to be had, if they can earn it.

    Trojan Here !!!

Thats what I'm talking about fellas and ladies. Let's do this ****! I'm serious I want both teams to go undefeated in a dominating fashion so we can play the game everybody has been wanting to see for the last 4 years. This game would be the highest rated (watched) CFB game ever!
    USC v LSU
For the MNC anything else would be a let down, screw Texas and their cupcake schedule!

    Fight On !!

Why in god's name is Hawaii being mentioned for a BCS bowl? This is a team that is basically a high scoring version of Tulane. They throw up a ton of points, but their defense always gives up a ton +1. That is where this article lost all credibility for me. Hawaii belongs in the Aloha or Hula Bowl (whatever the F they are calling it these days) every year.

Are people really picking Hawaii to be that good this year?

I agree that the predictions are meaningless, but we do need the talking heads to have LSU on their tongues. As long as we're a buzzword team, we have a good chance of a high ranking--very important in the grand scheme of things.
