hold on a sec, i am calculating how many words into that post it took the average reader to decide you are crazy.
That's nothing. I knew a guy who was a Catholic Taoist. He beleived after Jesus Died he hung out in Japan for a couple of hundred years and invented the samurai sword. Also Jesus had 2 hearts and thats why he could come back from the dead. It just took three days for his body to disconnect itself from the first heart and attach to the second heart.
Lol Martin, but hey at least I have something to work with, love. What have you got? Richard Dawkins=hate Go help someone less fortunate than yourself today, someone you know or a total stranger. You'll feel much better. :hihi: It was also a good test of the old saying, Better to let people think your crazy than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
You really hate it when your odd interpretations are so easily shown to be unorthodox, don't you. This would suggest that to be reasonable is to be moral, which we know is not always the case. Reason is required to understand any concept and make decisions based on them. But morality is not "derived" from reason. Reasonable people use reason to make immoral decisions all of the time. To be moral, requires choosing what is right and disdaining what is wrong. To exercise reason is to apply logic with proper justification to reach decisions. It is entirely possible to exercise reason to justify an immoral belief. Morality comes from within, obviously. But it entirely possible to write down one's concepts of morality to share with others. The sharing of our thoughts is the basis of all literature. I do not suggest that morals come from a book. I only suggested that a book need not be factual to effectively convey the author's concepts of morality.
Morality does not exist in the absence of absolute right and wrong. There is only one standard, and while some of you may disagree, the foundation of all civilized society is based on that standard.
no, unorthodox things are awesome. i am just helping you understand that you miss the point and are often too eager to research and not eager enough to think. that is because what is best for the individual and what is best for the collective are not always the same. thats why we have to use our brains to make smart laws that balance the benefits of the individual with the collective. yeah, thats right "balance". you can agree now! man, i really have no freaking clue what that is supposed to mean. of course. i forgot where we disagree.
yeah, nuts. hey get this, i know some people who think that after jesus died he ascended into "heaven" to right hand of "god", his father, who had just had him killed to forgive the "sins" of the people that this god fella had created. no kidding, people really believe that!
Martin, Please do yourself a favor. Get Saved today, You have nothing to lose if you do. Your soul if you don't. Don't chance it bro. But be forwarned, the day you get saved will be the day the devil comes a callin since he knows he lost you and he will put you through tribulations in life you never dreamt of. It's a test, your smart and you will pass, see you on the other side friend. :yelwink2: May god bless all of you. ps last religious and theology stuff you'll ever hear from HTC I'll just stick to LSU football from here out lol
Our world reflects this today. The less people care about their relationship with god and his commandments the more delusional people become and ignore the golden rules meaning they take kids hostage and then kill them at schools. Then you have those that kidnap kids off the streets, have their way and kill them not to mention the young college student last week. Some of you have NEVER been more wrong! Our society is slowly decaying away to where nothing surprises us anymore. I remember a time in this country when these kinds of things NEVER happened and I know some of you are too young to remember!
