Here are the quotes: Les Miles: 'I have received no contact from Michigan' - Campus Rivalry: College Football & Basketball News, Recruiting, Game Picks, and More - USATODAY.com
Well, I will say this much, up until you posted that I was pretty confident he was going nowhere. Now, not so much. He had the opportunity to say, he was not interested, he wasn’t going anywhere, and that he would remain at LSU for as long as they would have him. He chose not to say those things. Instead he covers it up with coach speak. The comment that is alarming to me is: "I have no real view of anything else but what I'm getting done right here, preparing your team, taking practice today, working in that event," Miles said. "I very much enjoy where I'm at. I don't think anybody has any reason to be concerned in any way. Let's just go practice and enjoy this week and go on." “Your Team”, not my damn strong team, not my team, not our team. That isn’t good, I now have a very sick feeling that we may be seeing his last game Friday.
So if the unthinkable happens, who will be the coach of LSU? The ramifications of Miles leaving after the Cotton Bowl are huge. Do we lose Frank Wilson, do we lose the stellar recruits we have coming in? Do we lose Chavis? This could be very damaging.
I think there is too much reading going on into those commets. I don't think he has had time to have any contact with anyone about it and what really matters is that I don't see Michigan putting on a strong push for him. Too many politics going on within UM IMO. There are some pushing for him to become the coach but even more like the Carr supporters that won't have any of it.
This. Bottom line is, no matter what the man says or how he answers questions regarding this situation, there will always be the thought in peoples' minds that it's "coach speak" to cover his true intentions. It's best just to sit back and see what happens, rather than be concerned with it. On a personal note, I don't think he will leave. Of course, I've always been an avid supporter of CLM, so I like to think we'll have him here for a while longer.
Well, if they wanted a big name who is still coaching, all this waiting makes a lot more sense. If that happens to be Les, keeping folks confused and disoriented for just two days more shouldn't be much of a stretch. That lingo he uses ranks right up there with deciphering the Navajo's.
As with me, I have been in his corner thru ups and downs, and have been able to look past his deficiencies. The last thing I want to have happen right now is for him to leave. I think he is on all levels, possibly the best coach we could ask for. I know what you and Bhelm are saying, it just makes me nervous him not squashing this like he did last time. If it hadn’t happened before it might be a different thing, but he has had to answer this question before and he gave one of his best speeches proclaiming how much he wasn’t going anywhere, and that he had a “Damn Strong Team” about to play. This time it isn’t with as much conviction, and instead of his “Damn Strong Team”, it’s “your team”. Just has me nervous. I really don’t want for us to be looking for a new coach, not right now, and if the opportunity is there, not for a very long time.
