Just so you know, one of the pitchers we signed Jeremy Hellickson (4th round) has chosen to go pro. All the top pitchers we signed are gone.
We had a new check-in in medical today on my ship today, a young ensign, roughly about 22-23 years old. I saw him in the passageway (hallway) from about 10 feet away. His nametag had a "T" and a wave on it. Where was he from you might ask? TULANE... I immediately walked up to him and said: "You a Tulane fan?" He responded with "uhhhh... yeah, I like tulane, I just graduated from there. I try to follow the baseball team, they are trying to get to the CWS." I responded with "yeah, LSU won a couple of those.... Tulane got any?" I pointed out that I was an LSU fan. after a stern look from me, looking him up and down, I told him: "Ok, you have to go" "what do you mean I have to go?" "OUT!" "Out of where? out of medical? what are you talking about?" You could cut the tension with a knife. Then I laughed and asked him where he was from... "West Virginia" I cringed... "what the hell were you doing in new orleans?" "I wanted to get the hell out of west virginia.. haha" Touche' Sir, Touche'...
We shouldn't let stuff like this bother us. Since I've lived away from NOLA for so long, I find myself glad to meet people from back home, no matter WHO they pull for.
With Fullerton out of the way, the scum have zero excuses for not winning it all. For once, expectation is against them. Geeze, I hope they lose, but it is all laid out for them win it all.
Oh well, I guess Smoke will have to tear up the old "we got knocked out of the tournament by the eventual champion" speech.
