i think your sensitivity is misguided. you two are agreeing. these guys claim to represent the black church even if they do not. thats what red said. you cant change that fact. just like swaggart or tilton pretend to represent whatever the hell they claim. its a facade. we all know this although Im sure my grandmother mailed her retirement checks to swaggart more than once before she died. they all prey on the lowest common denominator. the weak and naive.
That is true, I think you are right. I dont want these idiots to represent my church or beliefs in any way possible. Their leadership has been piss poor. It pisses me off even more that people follow them, especially within my race. Glad to see you giving me a shot!
they all represent a checkbook, whether its written by a white or black person is irrelevant to them as long as it clears. of course, you have to put blame on those who believe the tripe they spew which keeps them in power, therefore, allowing them to claim they are representing black people and its church --which just so happens to include you. that part would piss me off as well. they feed on the hate/anger issues of race amongst the black people and will continue to feed the flames to keep it going. its a self-serving platform used to line their pockets at the demise of its people but those weak-minded individuals involved will never see it. so the cycle continues.
Good point, but if that is the only down side to the plan there is an easy solution with a free market scenario. Let individual people form associations and/or groups to increase buying power with the insurance companies while allowing the government to work on tort reform to help protect "good" doctors and pharmaceutical companies to reduce overall health care cost. The plan seems to have something for everyone, the poor who pay little or no taxes get cash from the federal government to pay for health insurance and those of us who pay for our own health insurance get a $5,000 tax credit. My family's health insurance runs about $9,000 a year, but it is better than nothing. The government stays out of the insurance business while helping the poor, middle class and small businesses to afford/provide health insurance.
im unhappy with my group coverage options id rather pay 1/2 for 1/4 the coverage. i just want catastrophic. ive only significantly used my coverage (15 yrs now) when my son was born.
The Pastor as well as the membership of Trinity United Church of Christ is committed to a 10-point Vision: A congregation committed to ADORATION. A congregation preaching SALVATION. A congregation actively seeking RECONCILIATION. A congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA. A congregation committed to BIBLICAL EDUCATION. A congregation committed to CULTURAL EDUCATION. A congregation committed to the HISTORICAL EDUCATION OF AFRICAN PEOPLE IN DIASPORA. A congregation committed to LIBERATION. A congregation committed to RESTORATION. A congregation working towards ECONOMIC PARITY. Click here to read about Dr. Wright’s talking points for Trinity United Church of Christ its Web site and the Black Value System. this is right off one of the pages on the website at the church Obama attends. What does a "non negotiable commitment to africa "have to do with the Bible? working towards economic parity sounds close to redistribution of wealth. The so called Biblical teachings of this church revolve around "black liberation theology" which is a term I had never heard before. One of the inventors of this theology is James Cone ,a guy Pastor Wright has mentioned in interviews.here is a quote by Mr Cone... Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community ... Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love."[1] Black theology calls for political liberation instead of spiritual salvation. Fundamentally, it is not Bible-based, Christ-honoring theology from this critical viewpoint. [14] Anthony Bradley of the Christian Post interprets that the language of "economic parity" and references to "mal-distribution" as nothing more than channeling the views of Karl Marx. He believes James Cone and Cornel West have worked to incorporate Marxist thought into the black church, forming an ethical framework predicated on a system of oppressor class versus a victim much like Marxism.[15] I don't think most people would have aproblem with Obama attending a church pastored by a guy like TD Jakes but this church seems a little on the dangerous side ...sort of like a black version of the white ...christian identity churches.
