That shouldn't be a big concern, DarkHornet. Here's why... the only reason Ohio State is really ranked #4 (in the AP and ESPN/Coaches polls) is because they've managed to only lose one game and are the defending champs. But they've been SO unimpressive that another loss will probably mean they'll drop down to at least #7 or 8 in both polls, depending on what other teams do of course. That, along with the second loss, will end all of their hopes of playing in the Sugar Bowl.
that won't happen, if OSU loses they will drop at least 3 spots in the human and computer polls....that will add 6 points right there plus the one more point for the loss...that puts it at 7...which then puts their BCS total over 14...LSU is at 12 right now, and with a OSU loss LSU would climb in some computer polls. Bottom line is this, if OSU wins this weekend they are in the Sugar. If they lose they are all but eliminated from the race, assuming USC and/or LSU wins out
All of this stuff is pretty annoying after awhile. I wish it was just simple. Oh well, I'll worry about two games this weekend. LSU - Ole Piss, and OSU - Mich. If Mich. loses or LSU loses, we can drop all of this Sugar Bowl talk, because Ohio State will be going.
Ohio State would drop at least 3 in the polls, then we'd have to worry about Michigan...and then there's still texass
Could you imagine if USC and Ohio State lost, and Texass or Michigan jumped us! I would be in New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl, and would probably do something I would regret and end up in prison for a long time.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe we need to root for UCF over Marshall tonight. This will weaken Tennessee's SOS Opponent partion. We need Tennessee to become as weak as possible, while Florida's SOS increases, giving us hope that Florida will be able to make it to the SEC CG instead of Georgia.
You are correct, Dark Hornet. Furthermore, the probable Arkansas (UF opponent only) win over Miss. St. (UT opponent only) will help Florida's SOS and hurt Tennessee's directly. Also, losses by Fresno State (vs. UTEP) and Duke (vs. UNC) would also hurt Tennessee's SOS.
