LSU---we had to buy a block of 3 years

after the LSU Sugar Bowl game v. Illinois. It's cool that you didn't. I just remember that we only wanted them for this year and we had to buy 3 years worth of the damned things....:)

I repeat, if Impastato bought a 3 year package, then there's NO STORY.
If not, could there be some prosecution for bribery or something similar ? - help, Bud - I know you know the answer to this.

Don't ask me on this one. To the extent the woman got paid off, there may be an action the Suger Bowl Organization can take against her ... sort of like embezzling from your employer or taking kick backs.

BUT, the Sugar Bowl organization isn't a public entity. Therefore, I can't see any sort of public corruption. If someone in the LSU ticket office had done the same thing with the LSU allocation, then you're talking Public Corruption and I'm sure someone would go to jail.

But, the way it's set up, it seems the Sugar Bowl Organization would have to take some sort of action. And, I don't know if they can get the tickets back.

We had our rehearsal dinner there (the night of the national championship last year - Miami v. OSU); there's always several Saints players hanging out there...
I thought the food was great.

i dont care who bought what. the stupid venues should just charge what the tickets are worth, then there would be no need to buy 1000, because they would not have a value more than the value you paid for them. nobody would want to buy all of them up if they would just charge alot more for them. i am baffled by the stupidity of the venues.

That wasn't "Louisiana politics" by the way...That was a corrupt ticket manager in an illicit and downright illegal manipulation of the tickets and their price, availability, and it makes one harken back to the robber Baron's and the old "Gold Rush" in which the gold market almost got cornered, sending the price skyrocketing, and creating what was at that time the equivalent of a "dot com IPO" like fortune when those with large quantities of gold were able to flood the market at such a high price...

i still just cant understand why the sugar bowl doesnt sell tickets that are worth 900 for 900. they must hate money. they apparently would rather ebayers or ticket brokers get rich than themselves?

Hey I buy tickets to the Sugar Bowl every year fugedabout it!

The proof that this thing is bogus is in the reaction of the Sugar Bowl Director who is saying he isn't happy about the situation.
I fired off an email to the Times Picayune and they confirmed it will be in the paper in the next few days.
    Enjoy:
"Surprise, Surprise another shady transaction going down in New Orleans! I guess all those politician pictures on the wall at Impastato's really do pay off.
Colleen Landry, ex (Thank God!)ticket manager for the Sugar Bowl, wants to know if it was wrong to sell Joe Impastato 1,000 tickets to the LSU game. Let's see if I can help. The entire LSU student body of 20,000 plus students gets 2,000 tickets to watch THEIR football team play for the first national championship since 1958 and one connected restaurant owner gets 1,000 so he can sell them to the highest bidder. You tell me.
If this woman is any indication of the braintrust staffing the Sugar Bowl, they should all be terminated immediately.
For the record, I am an LSU alum and New Orleans native.
    Good Luck to LSU!

I still think that when all the turds finish hitting the fan, we'll find out that he sctually got 1,800 tix.

He can keep his fettuccini - I only go there once a year, but I won't be back unless I find out that he got the tickets as a 2 or 3 year package.
