I heard 1 1/2 weeks ago from someone in the Saints Office that Impy actually got 1,800 tickets. Something smells fishy here, it sounds like he got a deal not available to the rest of us. I would like to know how many years worth of tickets he bought . If he bought 3-4 years worth at face value, then I guess there's nothing wrong - but I doubt that. If this was on the up and up, he would'nt have a problem with disclosure - because he can't afford bad publicity being in the restaurant buisness. I'm sure many like myself will think twice before eating at his restaurant again. I want two Sugar Bowl tickets with my pasta.
It seems that almost everyone with tickets got a deal that was unavailable to us. Why do ticket brokers have availability to the tickets long before we do? How and when did price gouging (legal scalping) start? Why are we required to support these professional scalpers, people who do absolutely no work, if we want to see our university participate in a bowl game? Because this is COLLEGE football, I think the bowl should sell all its tickets, evenly split into two, directly to the two universities playing. Any tickets leftover would then go to outlets like Ticketmaster. LSUBud has the best icon on the Den, so I hope the Fixer goes easy on him.
LOL!!! I'm not the one Bruno has to pay a visit to. I've never been with the IRS and, having to work with/against them on occasion, I'm not their biggest fan. I've got a case right now where I'm accusing an agent of "improprieties", so I'm sure I'm not their biggest fan, either.
Here's the story We bought Sugar Bowl tickets from Ticketmaster two years ago after LSU was in it. We wanted them to sell for profit if LSU wasn't in it this year which we were lucky and they are. But someone asked why do ticket brokers get the tickets........it's because the BCS and Sugar Bowl guaranteed $X of dollars to the teams, vendors, whomever etc. up front so they sell the tickets that didn't get sold on ticketmaster to the brokers to make sure they have that upfront money. The teams get their allotment, sponsors get theirs, alumni, government dudes.....then that's it. Sugar Bowl tickets were on sale to the general public through Ticketmaster in 3 year blocks for the last two years. Now that LSU is in it, everyone is crying conspiracy....this restaurant guy probably did have a connection cause like someone said, I doubt he bought 1,800 tickets through Ticketmaster two years ago......but they were for sale to the general public at one time cause I am living proof of it. This bowl ticket siutation is better than the deal for the Final Four when it was in NO. Hell, I entered the NCAA lottery for tickets a year in advance and got none......those were NEVER on sale to the general public at any time.
Re: Here's the story When I first heard about the story, that's what I thought. I had the opportunity to get tickets on the 20 yard line in the Plaza last year. Because a friend was SLOW in repponding, we wound up not getting the tickets (THANKS GUS!!!). But, read the article again. It seems Impastato got the 1,000 tickets in OCTOBER of this year. THOSE tickets you are referring to weren't available to anyone else in October 2003. In fact, you couldn't just buy this years ticket through Ticketmaster. You had to buy a 3 or 4 year deal LAST YEAR, AND PAY UP FRONT. In non-NC years, getting your money back isn't always guaranteed. This year, getting 3-to-4 times your money back is GUARANTEED. Therein lies the problem - ONE YEAR purchase where no one else had access. And, YOU KNOW, that if these tickets were part of a deal he made last year (as anyone else could have), then they would have pointed that out from the GET GO. Further, there would be NO STORY if that were the case.
I bought tickets to the 2002 Sugar Bowl directly from Ticketmaster. No where did I receive any application for buying future tickets.
I agree I think he got some kind of a deal from the fired ticket director ya know? A deal regular people (like me) couldn't get. But that's par for the course with crap not only in this state but with the changing sports environment in general. It's a shame that many of the LSU fans that Nick waved at in the stands on the road games don't get to have that happen at the Sugar Bowl. Those are the true supporters ya know? But rather we get dudes from Nokia down here that have no idea who Saban is.......some housewife married to a VP is in the dome falling asleep at the half. I hope she gets a drink poured on her to wake her dumbass up!!!!!
:cuss: how typical!!! What else would you expect from the most corrupt state in the nation. You can't even get to see your team play for the National Championship unless you're part of some back alley shady deal. It's time to kill every politician in this state and start over from scratch.:cuss:
