Ok, well maybe I'm wrong about the percentage. Not the first time. :thumb:

Still not convinced though. I think they bouge the numbers up for crap like that, but of course there is no way to prove that.

Depends on what restaurant/bars you go to. There are a couple around here where that's considered normal. Also, the no shirt, no shoes, so service are usually decision made by the owner of the establishment. As has been stated before, I have no problems with the owners of these places deciding to ban smoking,as it may or may not affect business.

And you're like a little kid...never anything of substance to add, and can't formulate a single thought without trying to insult someone else.
I'm glad you've finally jumped in here to clear all this up after the fact in typical tirk fashion. I was wondering when someone would finally degenerate this thread once and for all.

Yes, our freedoms are practically non-existent, now. Next thing you know, they'll be able to tap our phones and search our property without getting a warrant. Oh, wait...

Nah, I've actually decided that I'm entirely too unique/advanced to fit anyone's label. ;) Hard-line idealogy screws people's concept of reality.

i dont think you ever really understood exactly what libertarianism was, you just thought it sounded cool and different.

but i will agree with you that most political philosophies are imperfect, and sometimes you have to pick and choose. unless your philosophy is to agree with me, because my stances are all beautiful, exquisite and refined. if you could paint my philosophies and put them up for display, they would be a rembrandt. if my philosophies were a baseball player, they would be babe ruth.

libertarianism would be almost perfect if applied only to domestic issues. but there are occasions when mistakes our part and circumstances beyond our control mean we have to take a more aggressive approach to foreign policy.

Well, I'm glad you give me the credit of hinging such a decision on such pertinent criteria. No, despite your best efforts, I understood exactly what it is. You didn't do me the favor of shedding any light on the subject. This isn't about wanting to distance myself from any particular issues, it's about not having opinions predetermined by someone else's thought pattern.

I support it moreso than any other political philosophy, but I recognize that it has some flaws in relation to reality. Utopian quacks that frequently ignore this fact are not deserving of my association, regardless of their affiliation. Further, there are things that I feel uphold the best interests of the idealogy better than some of the stated platforms. But, there are many different factions and interpretations of libertarianism, and that's always been my argument. If you want to get technical, libertarianism as a form of government is a complete contradiction, but I suppose that's another story. Norm Chomsky, the most cited living scholar, is a 'libertarian socialists.' Sounds a bit like an oxymoron, but it just goes to show you that there is no pigeonholing. I find geo-libertarianism is pretty interesting, as well.

i do want to get completely technical, but i disagree. libertarianism doesnt mean anarchy, it means personal liberty. nothing contradictory about it.

what that really shows is an example of a person that everyone says is worthy of respect, but is actually a pompous gasbag. next time you read or hear chomsky talk, listen closely. he is really just an *******. but he has lots of people fooled. not smart people, but people.

you will probably grow out of it.

i'm only bugging you about it because you used to link to the libertarian party site and call them the "party of principle" which i didnt understand. but you grew out of that, so congrats. at the time i thought you should have changed the quote to "the party of principles i dont agree with".
