The FETUS was not already dead. An abortion would have taken 15 minutes. But because the FETUS was alive under Louisiana law the doctor couldn't perform an abortion, so instead had to force the mother into a live birth.

I live in Oklahoma, one of the reddest states there is and one of the strictest abortion laws as well. I have already told this dipwad that I have someone in my family that had a pregnancy with the same condition. They knew ~month 4 that the baby would not live more than a few hours and get this, were offered the option to abort. They chose to keep the baby and it became one of the first infant organ donors.
