If you think Howard Dean is a diamond in the rough then you are what is wrong with the democratic party. What didnt you learn from Bill Clinton's Presidency. If you will find a moderate southern Democrat that talks common sense then you will probably retake the White House. But you insist on nominating these Northeast liberals and you lose moderate democrats in the south. As a Republican i am upset with the lack of leadership in the house and senate. They have lost their way and dont show any initiative. While we control both houses we have gotten nothing important done. We Republican's are vulnerable in the upcoming elections . Reduce spending. Pay off the debt. Get gas prices stable. Send enough troops to Iraq to get control Jobs program moving keep working on developing effeorts to fight terroism and get out of the way and let the economy produce.
The RNC called me last week asking for donations. I told them they obviously didn't need it since the Republican Congress just passed through the biggest pork laden highway bill in history. Guy fumbled and stumbled for a while and I said with bills like that, the RNC isn't getting anything from me. Hopefully I wasn't the only one.
it certainly is not worse if taxes are not raised. the ultimate bad thing is high taxes. high taxes is the worst possible thing that ruins everything. high spending is not great, but if it actually grows the economy, then it is ok. i used to not be sure how this all works. but now i understand it. you should agree with me or be wrong.
I agree with this a 100%. Bill Frist thinks he can be President? If he runs he won't make it past the first primary. Seems like a great guy, but he needs to take his little healthcare card and leave. I can't wait until Harold Ford Jr. takes his seat. The Republicans may not lose the House and Senate, but they'll come very close and it won't teach them a thing.
You don't even understand your own pompous ravings. You never did. It's very simple: if you spend more than you make you go deeper and deeper in debt. America's National Debt is unprecendented and the economy is still tepid. The government is cutting income at the same time that it is spending at a record-breaking rate. This can't go on forever. You may be an economic genius in your own mind, but I'll go with Alan Greenspan who warns that the National Debt will lead to inflation and a reduced standard of living for young and future Americans.
yes, in the same manner that going hugely into debt to buy a house results in a worse standard of living for your children. but wait, the investment actually increases your standard of living! the government pays around 6% on their debt. if i could borrow money at 6% i would borrow trillions, and our governmetn should also. but unlike our government, i am not backed by millions of taxpayers. so i cant get that rate as easily. but the government can and they should use it as much as possible.
Many people who vote conservative vote that way for social, not economic, reasons. I consider myself a good ol' fashion anti-federalist... i think the role of the federal government needs to be minimized and more power sent back to the states...

Yes, if your income exceeds your mortgage, it works out very well. But if your income does not enable you to pay your mortgage, you eventually lose your house and possibly go bankrupt, depending on how much debt you've accumulated. This government has no viable plans to pay off the debt. A prudent government should bring in roughly what money it expends. The annual interest the US government pays on its debt ($315 billion!) is enormous and unnecessary. Either we cut expenditure to match income or raise income to cover expenditures. It's pretty simple-- all a matter of balance. All of us have to balance our budgets. Why not the government? Because short-sighted, greedy politicians want the shiny things now while they are in office and seeking reelection and they will let the next generation of politicians deal with the consequences. Both parties are guilty of this.
