Coach O might win 10 national championships and be the best ever, but at this point the hire looks weak. I hate saying this, but Herbstreit said it right, "College football is scratching its head at LSU this morning"
I had no faith in him since we (inexplicably) hired his sorry ass. I couldn't, for the life of me, understand why we would hire the asshole who botched the Duke lacrosse scandal.
Alleva and enough folks didn't feel like there was enough separation between others in the second tier and O. O killed the interview, he even reportedly brought a big binder.
Well, I am SO happy that a binder got a guy a job in 2016. And so it begins in earnest...the end of LSU football being a powerhouse.
Coach O was third in line behind Fisher and Herman. Could not land neither one so the obvious choice is O. I think we keep O and see what he can do and if not it will open up the doors for someone better than Herman and Fisher. I think Herman falls on his ass at Texas and three years from now we're saying wow sure glade we didn't hire that guy.
He should be able to recruit. He should bring in an improvement at OC. We should be able to keep Aranda. Should be able to make improvements at position coaches. I hope Eaux wins us over. It would be a great story. All his wins this season were in spite of Miles. All his losses were because of Miles.
For some reason I wasn't aware of that until after we had him for a while. You are right with a track record like his he should not have even smelled LSU employment.
