I think you are incorrect here. Liberals are not denouncing the federal law that's been in place since 1993 but people of all political stripes are calling the Indiana law a step too far. If the language of the law did not need to be fixed then why would the Governor of Indiana indicate otherwise? Look, if the language of the law is too ambiguous and the intentions are truly to protect Hoosiers then simply change the language so it is reflective of every other state who has an RFRA, which is what it sounds like they are trying to do.
welcome back pal.....but you need to go back in the thread and read all the posts. the differences in the laws have been discussed at length
oh, i also dont think this issue is religious. its social/cultural. the "religious" are cherry-picking. the new testament says little about homos (i think its in there once). a bunch about helping the poor no questions asked, though.
Is that legal? If I own a bakery can I charge $100 for straight couples wedding cakes and $100,000 for gay cakes?
Sup NC! The fire department has kept me busier than a 1 legged man in a karate tournament. Every law has its pros and cons. It's going to be interesting to see how this one gets bashed from one side and praised by the other. I've seen somewhere else where Conneticut has a law that's very similar. I don't remember any backlash from that.
Sodom and Gomora come to mind. Personally I have no problem with gays and lesbians. I have a few of both in my family and as friends.
