You think THAT is a personal attack? BTW, I agree with pretty much everything else you say in this post. Shocker huh?

I agree that Bush has sucked this year, but I also believe he was an intregal part in the SB run last year. I also believe his poor play is one reason the offense isn't as dominant this year. That, and an overall poor running attack which is exacerbated further by Payton's reluctance to stick with it.

It isn't a shocker, because I am stating facts as I have witnessed them first hand. You would have to basically call me a liar to disagree with most of it. And I too agree with most of what you have said. Now it would be a shocker if 100%Tigerbred agreed with anything I say. It is obvious you think Bush is of greater value to the team than I do. We can agree to disagree. Let me acknowledge that it is your right to an opinion about Payton's reluctance to stick with the running game as being an obstacle. I don't have a strong opinion about that. However, when I mentioned that I thought the Saints made a mistake in keeping Bush for 8 mil I was told that the coaches knew better than me as if that was evidence I was wrong. Just because Payton or Loomis make a decision it doesn't mean that you aren't right or I'm not right,---they are human and can't be right 100% of the time.

What exactly would we be replacing? And who said it wouldn't be a good thing? Just some thoughts..

Because Bush is paid 8 million to be a part-time back I have said I think that is too much and the Saints should have looked and should be looking to replace him with another back that could take on his same role. I argued that we should have targeted someone via the draft and/or free agency that could fill his pass catching role out of the backfield. I believe that it would be easier to replace him than 100%Tigerbred. Just go back and read the thread.

@TBoy, i think he is thinking RB is garbage and doesn't do anything.
@LSUTyga the little things I and others have mentioned are what i feel is going to be hard to replace him. They way def. look for him when he is on the field opens up our run and pass game, just look at last year. Can somebody put up better stats, yes. But I dont think just anybody will make the opposing team pay attention to just 1 person.

Another golden opportunity for Bush disappears because he DROPPED the ball.

    Sad!

While I disagree with you that he can be replaced, I do agree that not just anyone can replace him. In essence, Reggie is a fast, athletic, and shifty running back that can catch the ball out of the backfield. I feel like we could get a back like that in the 1st or 2nd round if needed.

We don't really need a back that will 'attract' so much attention because Drew is that good. What we really need is a consistent power run game because the passing yards will be there. Reggie is dynamic but let's not get his college and NFL days mixed up, there are backs that can do what he does, but he just does it flashier

Bush had a much greater impact on the team last year than he had this year. I think that the injuries have stacked up and have taken a toll on him. He is still a great player but the beating that a running back takes can't be avoided and will effect every back no matter how great they are. Reggie will never have the explosiveness he had before the injuries. We can only hope that the experience he has gained through the years will offset the step he has lost because of the wear and tear on his body. I think Reggie is part of the saints idenity. He could be replaced as simply a running back but replacing his persona in the locker room and his rock star media appeal would be much harder. Reggie is a big part of the character of this team that would change greatly when he does go. Is this persona worth 8,000,000$ ? So far Payton thinks it is.
