Glad to hear you say this because he really is. People give him crap all the time because he "shows off." I think it is just because he is intense and fired up. He said that Ben was the best offensive lineman he has ever played against in his life, hands down. I watched the game on TiVo again yesterday and noticed how he stopped and looked at him when he got hurt in the middle of the play like you said. Then he remembered what he had to do and nailed Russell a few seconds later.
there's no way even the best CB can defend what ocurred on sat. when a QB places the ball in a spot where only the WR can catch it, it's impossible to defend. watching the replay, I don't think webster and daniels played that badly. you can chalk that win up to greene's pinpoint passing - you won't see better execution this year.
Actually Travis Daniels was quoted as saying that he takes responsibility for the loss because he should have knocked down 3 TD passes and he didnt. Our corners never turn to locate the ball.
That's what I would think as well, but does anyone know for sure. Specifically, what are the fewest completions ever made while throwing 5 TD passes in a game?
Cheers for you my friend!! Imagine someone accepting the fact that a loss could be because of not doing your job. So it's not in some football god's hand.
Pollack has always been a class guy who has gotten a bad reputation (at least on this site it seemed) for his girlish hoping (which does get annoying). He is a damn good player, IMO. As for Greene...he did what he always does when given time. Kill You. But, someone will get pressure on Greene this year and beat UGA...
Well I'm glad he realizes he didn't play up to his ability, but I hope he's not beating himself up about it as DBs need to have short memories to keep confidence up. Travis Daniels is 100% Tiger and is as unselfish as they come, if you remember he gave up his redshirt season in 2001 to come in and play in the SEC Championship Game because we were out of DBs.
all that means is that Daniels is a real team player, taking the heat for the loss. even if daniels would have located the ball, doesn't mean he would have been able to do anything about it. sometimes, in sports, you just get beat and there's nothing you can do about it.
I believe he has a winners heart. And learning from and overcoming shortfalls is what winner's do. He is a student athelete and I do hope he uses the 24 hr rule takes care of his studies and play's up to his ability next week and keeps with fundamentals
I live in Georgia, and I've seen him enough to know, he is a real class act. He's just a good ol' boy from a small town. It's refreshing to see a guy like this come along. He's gonna have a wealth of success at the next level.
