Why? I think Matty is the BEST!!!! And if somebody wants to talk USC traditions with me, I got some handy information on that too!!!
The Power of Christ Compels You. The Power of Christ Compels You. The Power of Christ Compels You. The Power of Christ Compels You. The Power of Christ Compels You.
I'm hearing that Bama Boy will probably miss most of the exihibition games, and might not get signed until the season starts. That's going to be a serious mistake. I thought Vince Young showed great maturity last year when he didn't hold out even though Reggie Bush, who had been picked ahead of him, hadn't signed yet. It showed that Young really wanted to be the starter, and that he couldn't miss camp to do that. Young may have left some money on the table, but he will more than make up for that because of the way he developed. And, coming to camp and getting those reps, only helped Young in that regards. If Young had stayed another season, he would have been the first pick over JR. Young is just a singular talent, and he was the reason Texas beat a more talented and loaded SC team for the national championship.
Ok, I now consider you to be a rival fan. Please refrain from turning every thread into a USC thread. Thanks.
This is a negotiation and what you are saying is very common especially for top picks. It may take longer now that Culpepper signed with the Raiders. I see it as a way to scare JR from getting what he is worth and to help him develop along the way. Good move from a negotiation standpoint but it still doesnt mean that JR and his agent should just take what the Raiders want to give him. Bush was the 2nd pick and also waited until the other top picks were signed. This negotiation 101 and you seem to forget that. You should be more concerned about Quinn still battling for top money when he fell so far. Not as big a deal if you think about future deals in the NFL. One player here and there does nothing for what you are trying to stir up. So when did JR become your favorite player?:hihi:
Oh, I understand the negotiations behind this but I've just seen this end up screwing over too many promising QBs this way. Like I said, if we were talking about a RB, this wouldn't be such a concern. And, I agree that BQ should sign the deal and come to camp where he'll be bascially competing against Charlie Frye. Byt keep in mind, BQ was playing in a pro style offense the last two years under the tutorship of the same guy who molded Tom Brady into a star. BQ is much more prepared, much further along than Bama Boy so missing all those games and practices will be a lot more detrimental to Bama Boy than BQ.
Thanks for proving the point of my response to you. Have you been keeping up with the news from around the league since they were drafted? You also brought this Pro-Style Offense up every post leading up to the draft and we saw how that turned out. I am not saying that BQ wasnt a decent QB in college or that he wont be any good in the NFL. But your view point on the subject just shows you lack the information or logic to really post anything about QBs, college football, or the NFL.
