He's going to rack up the yards. Trust. This is Rich Rod at his finest and he will have him on display as much as possible throughout the season. They don't really have anything else on offense.
142 yards in the first 5 minutes of play on 2 drives, both for TDs. On pace for 1500 yards. He can have near 600 if Rodriguez so deems it. We shall see.
Not close to his projected numbers, and I don't know if the record still stands, but Brian Mitchell rushed for over 1,300 and threw for almost 2,000 in one season. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Mitchell_(American_football)
Robinson would easily put up 600 yards today but he was held out after landing on his knee at about the 4 minute mark of the first quarter, having put up nearly 190 yards of offense to that point.
Through 5 games: 1008 Passing 905 Rushing Projected through 12 games: 2419 Passing 2172 Rushing Had he not missed the last 3 quarters of the Bowling Green game, his numbers most likely would be in the neighborhood of: 1090 Passing 1055 Rushing Which projects to: 2616 2532 Those are some obscene numbers. Those numbers will slow down a bit now that Michigan finally gets it's teeth into the brunt of it's Big 10 schedule. But they still have suspect defenses in Michigan State (this weekend) and Purdue and Illinois later in the year. They will probably all be shootouts, resulting in Michigan relying on every single yard Robinson can muster for the Wolverines.
If Michigan finishes 10-2, beating a couple of the best teams in the Big 10 (e.g., Wisconsin, Penn State), and it's because of Robinson (shootout victories), then he will likely win the Heisman. At least he should.
