they werent. they were stirring the pot. and for that they deserve praise. they have exposed a flaw in the administration of the school and made a national story of it. i dont give a damn either way, i say give the mexos their stupid holiday. go crazy, eat some churros, who cares. i wouldnt wear the american flag to irritate the mexicans. but if i found out i could get sent home, i would definitely do it just to stir the pot.
Surely you know I was being a bit sarcastic with that question. But even if they were stirring the pot, they have that right. The Mexican kids can have their holiday. I'm certainly not upset that they are proud of it, though I do find it curious that for the most part in Mexico, most people just see it as another day. Of course, with the publicity this is getting I'm sure it will gain lots of popularity. See? There ya go, the kids with the American flag shirts were just helping them bring back their day of great celebration.:yelwink2: Regardless, those kids have the right to display their pride as the other kids have the right to display theirs, even in protest if that's what they're doing. Neither group was really in the wrong. However, one set doesn't fully understand what the freedoms they enjoy so much as a citizen of this country truly mean. The same can be said for the Assistant Principal for that matter.
ive already said how i think it should be handled. i have a problem with people with obtuse views but not necessarily with the view. in this case im ok with the az law, but i think they should focus on stopping the hiring of illegals. when the mom of one of the "american"kids says "we're fired up" [about the az law] then its a pretty clear signal about her views (but of course its just a hunch). but really the "obtuse views" line was just a friendly jab again, ive already said how i thought it shouldve been handled im sure they do. just another friendly jab. ive got two of my own. yes, you suck you want a list? anti abortion pro gun control anti capital punishment i will never spank my child rapists, child molesters and wife beaters should be castrated higher capital gains taxes. anti sales tax anti farm bill i wish the gov would get serious about alt energy im athiest (thats quite a stand. having to hear the jesus pitch at every family function til i die) i hate womens basketball i love lsu football, basketball and baseball. i support clm. and i like long walks on the beach.
alright, a question about an atheist do you take a day off from work on christmas? do you accept gifts on christmas? I've always wondered about this, but didn't know any atheists.
Most people don't know that back in 1912, Hellmann's mayonnaise was manufactured in England . In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico , which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New York. This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico . But as we know, the great ship did not make it to New York . The ship hit an iceberg and sank, and the cargo was forever lost. The people of Mexico , who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were eagerly awaiting its delivery, were disconsolate at the loss. Their anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning, which they still observe to this day. The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th and is known, of course, as -Sinko De Mayo.
