Your point is about as relevant as noticing that you never capitalize. Everyone else knew what I meant, and so did you.

If you watch the video, the reporter states that Marciel's father is Mexican. Having a Portuguese last name does not mean that he is from Portugal. I have an Irish last name. Does that mean I am from Ireland or Louisiana where I was born and raised? Most mexicans carry last names originating from spain, and the same can be said about all of south america.

When you produce some evidence contradicting Marciel's national heritage, I will give your comments credence. Since you can't, I will disregard it for what is it, contentious BS.

yes, but it means, as you said, that his name is portugese, not "mexican" as you asserted earlier. try to agree with yourself at least.

irish is a language (yes, a language distinct from english). mexican is not a language.

and your assertion certainly cannot be said of large regions of south america, especially brazil (the fifith largest country on earth), as well as places like curacao where folks have dutch last names. portugese is in fact more widely spoken in S america than spanish.

again it simply stupid to say a fella has a mexican last name, especially when you mean spanish and the the name is actually portugese!

i am not talking about dude's heritage. i am telling you that portugese last names are not "mexican" like you claimed. try to learn the nuances of the world, dude

Not as stupid as you believing that is what I meant. But if it makes you feel better go ahead and write a dissertation on the need to type specifically what you mean, so even new yorkers can understand.

What a load of crap. I guess it would be different if I didn't have to see episodes of George Lopez on July the 4th.

"but today is sensitive to Mexican-Americans because it's supposed to be their holiday so we were not allowed to wear it today."

I wonder why nobody questions sensitivity when they burn the American flag.

    Another day...another double standard. :usaflagwa
