You right on that one. The next coming weeks is when the big boys will be recruiting. Hopefully McKnight, Toliver, Jones, etc choose :helmet:

I would agree. With Aubrey, Barksdale, Nevis and Davis, we have more than enough talent along the D-line. Blackwell became expendable.

If he wanted to be a Tiger bad enough, he should have committed long ago. But since he waited too long, he definately wasn't all that interested in LSU. ...and since he waited so long, we ended up with 4 top-notch D-linemen. I'm not going to shed a tear on Blackwell going out of state.

You know, with the 4 D-linemen we have, even with a few young guys already on the roster, the way we play our D-linemen (enterchanging them throughout the entire game) I think Miles has a great deal of talent where all of them will get decent playing time and it makes our D-line almost impossible to wear down and tire.

They expect Aubrey will convert to OLine so we probably shouldn't include him. We now have 2 real good DTs commited and one D-end. I think we need atleast one more D-end, 2 if we have the room. That means Jason Peters and/or Blackwell. I'm not sure who the coaching staff has rated higher but I think both have been told we will hold a scholarship for them so obviously we want them both. It may come down to whether we have room for both.

I wouldn't be so sure, CParso. At least, if that's the coaching staff's intentions, they had better not say so before Aubrey signs his letter of intent because in an interview with Rivals, they asked Aubrey that same question and he quickly responded:

    "No. I'm a defensive tackle."

Granted, I know coaches have great knowledge and can see things us laymen can't about a player's talents, but you approach a player about a position swap AFTER he's here...not before.

Personally, Id rather have Peters at DE than Blackwell. Peters is more athletic, with more speed and quicker. He fits the LSU scheme better IMO. I wonder if the coaches may try Davis at DE. He has the speed, as well as a frame he can grow into. Today in the AA game they spoke highly of Blackwell, saying he may have a brighter future than Davis. They said its down to LSU and ND. Im sure with Saban at Bama may change our chances.

I didn't mean they as in the coaches, I meant they in reference to recruiting "gurus"

Saban has said that he will not go after anyone who has commited to LSU. But Saban has been known to lie.

The recruiting season never comes to an end. It's live golf - a year round sport.
