Yes, I am talking about JR. The fact that he did not have the interceptions against a defense that could recover or bait him is a sign of progress. And for the most part, from what I could see on TV (like anyone can see anything on TV) he was throwing to the right receiver most of the time.

Because he can still throw the ball farther than damn near anyone on the team.... hurt or not.

Weren't both of those completions on busted plays/ scrambles? Russell may have shown he was healthy on those completions, but they weren't scripted by the coaching staff...possibly because they knew JR's wrist was tender. But he did wing it pretty good on the last play of regulation.

It may have been a case where his wrist was 100%, but the coaching staff was still playing it cautious with the gameplan so as not to aggravate the injury.

He was throwing into the wind. If you watch the ball you can see it leave his hand like a rocket and catch the wind and slow tremendously.

Well, they'd better start throwing downfield more or there will be hell to pay with the play calling brigade.

Hopefully Russell won't have to play more than a half in both the UNT and Appy State games. Not only would it be nice to give all of our starters who are a bit "banged up", but it allows some of our back-ups opportunities to get some much needed playing time (some of our backups like Craig Steltz and get some more playing time for Bennie before he leaves and Flynn, so we can see exactly what he's all about), experience (some of our LB's--we're going to need them next year with Vaughn, Kuale and Hollis all leaving as well as along the OL) and provide confidence for others (JV, Early, X-man, etc.) to get them going.

Isn't it funny that on Hail Mary type passes that 5 out of the 8 or so guys back there always misjudge the ball by a bunch and then the other 2/3 players waiting for the tip hardly ever get one they can go after.

Isn't a 35 yard pass down the middle the same distance as a 20 yard pass to the sidelines?

Where is that guy Isosoles when you're talking triangles?
