I do agree with part he has to say. Georgia should've won the first time, look at the stats. Sometimes it helps to have luck on your side. Ohio State had a little luck in thier Champ run last year. He's also right about the Fla game. He's also right about the SECCG 2 years ago. I think he's right about beating a team twice in one season. I've posted several about that, in college anyway when 2 teams are quality teams. I disagree about the OK vs USC matchup. I hope I'm wrong. This will be the toughest game for us all year. A lot of his article does make sense, but I like Tiger Dabbs hope we find a way some how to beat Georgia pretty bad. But its not going to happen, I don't think. Say what You will................ No one really knows how good this LSU team is yet. I think if we'd put more points on the tougher teams of our schedule. We would've had a little more people persuaded our way with the arguments between 2 and 3. None of it matters though if we don't WIN Saturday. We've improved and Georgia is improved, they have some key players back from injury. It's going to be a WAR
If we don't beat Georgia, we don't deserve to go to the National Title game anyway, so lets go out there and take care of business.
I am so sick of the "Georgia should have won the first game" crap. Well, we should have won against Florida, too. It's a non- issue. You either win the game or shut the hell up about it. There is no such thing as a moral victory. There is no such thing as "the better team lost". So Georgia would have won if they hadn't missed 3 field goals. BFD! You have to actually score to win a game and if you fail, you lose! LSU would have won bigger if we hadn't dropped 2 touchdown passes. But it doesn't matter. The guy says LSU only won because Mauck made an improvisational pass on a broken play. Got that? LSU won accidentally! Give me a break.
Right. And besides, if we didn't score on that play, there were I think two more downs to get it on. And if that didn't work, we would have had a chance to kick a field goal anyway. That one play may have happened on accident, but it was still a heads up play on our part. They need to get over it.
He quotes Saban as saying "It hard to beat a good team twice" The interview I heard Saban give he said (paraphrased "I hear people saying it is hard to beat a good team twice, I don't necessarily agree. When I coached in the NFL we played teams twice every year. It come down to the team that executes its gameplan and makes the fewest mistakes will win the game" In fact he mentioned something about beating a team three time one year--twice during the season and once in the playoffs. The truth of the matter is it is hard to beat a good team period--you have to go into the game prepared and execute the plays. Somebody correct me if I heard Saban wrong
You are 100% correct. I've seen the full quote in a couple of articles this week; in fact, he was talking about his days with the Browns when, one year, the Steelers beat the Browns three times (1 in the playoffs), so it's hard but not impossible to beat a good team twice or more in a single season.
The proof will be in the the game on Saturday. We have a well coached ball club with excellant athlete's on this team with depth at skill positions that rival anyone. All these "journalist" will be saying the same thing in January. Sure we need a little help in the polls but this team is solids and desreves a shot. I agree with the others on here that say the bottom line is we beat Geogia no matter what else is said it's a W. We should of beat Florida but we did not so it's an L. That and only that is in the book for history. The next page is we are the SEC Champs in 2003. After that who knows. GO TIGERS
can someone post his e-mail address one more time just for good measure? this seems like an appropriate place to see it again. I am planning on having a lot of fun with it if we win Saturday night....... :cuss: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux:
Most amazing thing about that article is how horribly written it is. Let me see if I can write like this guy. "It's hard to beat a good teams twice. That's why LSU will lose to Georgia. This will avert a BCS nightmare. The USC Band will get to play the OU football team and that's what we all want to see. Thanks to Georgia who will beat LSU. Because it's hard to beat a good team twice. And they are playing in Atlanta. And LSU won't make it to the Sugar becuase they will then have a second loss while the USC Band will have only one loss. Because Georgia will beat LSU since it's hard to beat a team twice. Saban knows this. This is why LSU will not go to the Sugar Bowl but the USC Band will. Because LSU will not beat Georgia in Atlanta. Because Georgia will win. Because of Georgia LSU will lose. In Atlanta. To Georgia. Georgia will win. LSU will lose. Georgia."
