You're right..... 3 BCS bowls, not four.... USC in the Orange, Georgia Tech in the Orange, and Stanford in the Rose.... my vodka is to blame for the error. I'd rather error with vodka than be right sober.
You could've fooled me. I wouldn't have figured it out. I can't remember what bowl LSU was in 5 yrs ago.
It was also hard with Carr, Tressel, and Paterno..... I guess my overall point is to look what happened when schools try to replace coaches with a national championship under their belts. It's not always pretty. I would hope LSU will look for substance over flavor.
Can't disagree with your assessment at all. I do however believe people learn their lessons if they truly did screw up. I have done that myself and know many others who did the same. If we are stuck with I think it's worth a try.
This is the problem, these reports shouldn't even be out there. Don't put perspective coaches in that position where they have to deny reports like that. Beat back speculation maybe, but not have to deny reports supposedly coming from LSU. It's just not a formula for success. I hope this isn't a circus like last year, god please no!
Unfortunately it's already a shit show. LSU needs to make a statement that they do not intend to contact the coaches during the season to get the media to back the hell up and take some pressure off the perspective coaches.
I agree. And i'll add, anyone who thinks LSU hasn't contacted the agents of mentioned coaches is living in a bubble, including the UH admin. Herman can say what he wants, but he's just deflecting for the sake of the remainder of his season. Houston knows he's been contacted, Herman knows he's been contacted, and I'm sure as the parties start to put the meat of it on paper Herman will consider. Does he come, who knows. But I bet he takes a serious thought of it.
I don't think they can contact coaches, but they can and should be contacting agents. But there should be zero information coming out on the search from LSU. The odds of success are significantly greater if it's done quietly behind closed doors and closed mouths.
