Haha. I was in no way suggesting I wanted him here. I was just curious if Hawkeye nation had had their fill of him, like we've had of Miles. In retrospect, I should have added a disclaimer to my post.

This would be a disaster. They just gave him some ridiculous extensio . I can't understand why. Mediocrity for a huge salary. I don't get it. I know it's Iowa and you have a hard time recruiting in Big 10.

Also he is not young. He is getting up inn age.

Look no knock on Ferentz or Iowa, they are happy with him, and he makes chicken salad out of chicken shit annually.

    But we want change.

We've had two coaches since 1979....we can't even find the towel we're supposed to throw in.
Most all our kids are here five years. We watch them grow and mature... in the past 15 years. we've had five top ten finished, played in 4 BCS bowls, and Ferentz is in the top ten coaches for sending kids to the pros.... pretty good for always being somewhere around 40th in recruiting classes most years.

LSU has a whole different level of expectations...and rightfully so..... once you win a couple of national championships, everything changes. So, for me, I get to follow this forum and see what it's like to live in "that other" world.
Given LSU is my favorite SEC team, parting with LM is a good thing. I just think jumping for the "flavor of the day" coach in Herman should be done with slightly more reflection when reviewing resumes.

As far as Briles, he knowingly covered up the crimes of these players. Other staff members knew of them also.
Keeping a big name on the roster to help you win is more important than that player paying for his crime.

Baylor did an investigation and they vowed they will not release that report.
They had to let Briles go because of this and demote their president Ken Starr.
So Briles can take his hypocritical, thug protecting, win at all cost, baggage elsewhere.

Not too mention he is getting well up in age as well. Let him retire at a JUCO or MAC school.

When I was in Des Moines, Ferenze was having a typically poor year. Radio station had a contest to compare Iowa football to a tv show. I offered up,THE HISTORY CHANNEL to a passionate Hawkeyes friend of mine. He went with it, called in, and won the contest!

    No thank you.

    Hawker45,
Those are decent numbers and I'll give credit where it is due. 4 BCS bowls, I didn't remember those. That's commendable but I think it will be much harder now with Harbaugh and Meyer.

You guys are obviously happy with considering the very very nice extension.
