Thats the fact that I can't get passed. He knowingly brought those degenerates in to his program.

Miles had no problem with removing big names from the team when they fucked up bad enough, or enough times. Miles in terms of character, clean play, and integrity was top notch. his downfall was his loyalty to his friends and unwillingness to evolve with the game. The same demise that Saban faced until he gave in. Look where change took them.

Miles handled the off the field stuff well, and other than being a bit of a clown and not having a viable offensive identity, he represented LSU well. Briles, whether he thought he could redeem those kids or not (I suspect it was about winning more than redemption), set Baylor up for failure by bringing those kids there.

They didn't make a good hire IMO, but we're talking about the process of hiring not the actual hire. LSU didn't even make a hire and bombed the process. A lot could be learned from how Georgia handled and extremely similar situation. They did it in a way that was better for the program, better for the coach being let go and it wasn't a huge black eye on the university.

So here is the deal with Hermann and his contract situation with Houston.

He signed a 5 year deal last December for 3 million a year. If Houston joins the big 12, he gets a $5 million dollar bonus paid over the first two seasons in the conference. His salary would remain at 3 million, however.

Overall, not bad for LSU to contend with.

I'm not sure if Briles is responsible for this but if he is AND he was aware of all the rapists he had as players, we should hire him and also make Petrino the OC. We could even bring back Joe Pa from the dead to be our AD.

If Briles is a consideration, why not go get Petrino....same luggage, different baggage.
Is Herman bringing Greg Ward with him?
I say that because Sumlin was what, 12-1 his last year coaching Houston,,,, moved on to A&M and had a great entrance with Manziel...got a big raise.....and was THE hot coach in 2012 & 2013. Now he's just another coach trying to justify his salary.
I'd go find some big 5 conference coach with established success.....not that Herman isn't worthy of consideration.... it's just that LSU has a right to deserve the best....
